Machine accepts tickets but not bills

Here's a new one; I just did a clear on my machine and got a new game installed. Bill validator was working fine up until. I have a TITO set up so tickets travel in and process successfully but every bill I've tried, new and old, is rejected. I additionally installed a JCM Smart Sentry (which works). Could that have something to do with it? I have my bill limit set to $1000 and I've set bill tilts to "ignore." Totally puzzling me!


Any ideas?

After doing a clear do you also have to enable each bill denomination individually that you want the machine to accept (i.e. $1, $5, $10, $20 etc)?

Never something I've had to do before, so I don't think so. Weirdly enough, the JCM Sentry shows all green lights behind the different denoms, and amber behind the ticket icon. Yet thats exactly the opposite of what's accepted.  :Scratch-Head:

Sentry is working correctly. Orange indicates the last bill through the validator in your case it was a ticket. Are you sure none of the switches on the validator got moved? I believe they should all be up.

longshot but do you have so many credits on the machine from running tickets thru it that it won't accept paper money since that would put it over the credit limit? I'm not too familiar with TITO, does it have to obey credit limits with TITO same as paper money?

TITO will follow the bill limit, they do with my machines.
If I turn a machine on that is over the bill limit the validator remains inop (blue ambulance) until the credits go below the bill limit, then it turns on for both tickets and bills.

Bill limit is set to $1000 and even with no credits in the machine, bills won't validate. :/

Well, as much as I didn't want to have to do it, I did a clear on the machine and set it back up. Seems to be working flawlessly now! Maybe in the process of switching the JCM sentry, something didn't go right. I dunno, but it works now!

Sounds like everything is set right, I don't think missing "BV enabled" in menu 7 would still allow tickets so I won't ask if you checked ot. Maybe try unplugging power to the sentry bezel and cycle the machine off and on

I had given that a try as well, just to see. I plugged the original BV cables back into each other and still had the same result. Bill would accept in, but be immediately returned.


It's working now, but I still don't know the cause...
