Game King Help
« on: January 14, 2016, 08:56:43 AM »
My workhorse machine is finally starting to have issues. Lately when turning on the machine, it may either turn right on with no issue or it will say "NO Signal Input" on the screen and give a continual series of popping sounds from the speaker. If I leave it on while it's making the popping sounds, it'll eventually boot and turn on... it seems.
Power supply? Game program? Board issues?
It's likely one of you has had this issue as well and know how to remedy it.
Thanks, Jim

Jim, the only sure way to know if the power supply is the problem is to measure the two voltages that it provides, usually there is a power distribution board located in the top box area, there are a bunch of connectors on the board, two pin connectors and four pin connectors, the two pin has 25 vdc and the four pin contains both 13 vdc and 25 vdc.  the  solid red wire with the balck/red stripe have 13vdc , the solid  orange wire with the orange/black tracer have the 25vdc .  turn off the machine, monitor one of the voltages when you turn it on, if it is low, see what happens as it warms up.

this way you will eliminate the power supply as your potential problem. there is another voltage that the power supply does provide, if the other two are good then we will explore that .

Hope this helps

Jim

Power supply is a definite possibility.  Is this on your 13" Game king?  If so, those old power supplies are difficult to find.
