Iplus bill validator error
« on: February 22, 2016, 12:42:37 PM »
Hello all, i have i think it is a iplus jacks or better. It is a multi denomination and a touch screen. I had to replace the battery on the board. After replacing the battery it told me to turn key to clear ram error. I did what it said. Dont know if i should have or not. Know i am getting a bill validator error. Do i need a set chip to program the bill validator? If i do what chip do i need. I was really hoping to get this going today. Thanks for any help

open the door and press the white switch on the mpu tray, it will detail further what the error is.  If it is just a Validator CRC error, you can clear that by going into the setup and bill validator "clear errors".  The look kind of depends on what version software you have.  Post a picture of your mpu tray with the label on the chips clearly visible and we will be able to identify exactly what it is you have.

Thanks for the reply rick, if i do what you say after i get the bill validator error. When i press the white button it goes to a screen that says pending tilts none. Then it let me go into game play. The problem is when i shut it off and turn it back on it will either give the bill validator error or it will show the game but there is no response on touch screen. Here are a couple of pics.

You have a 3802 game set.  Looks like you might be having some netplex issues.  Does your cabinet have there removable type I/O cards?

What do you mean by removable i/o cards. This is the first iplus i have ever had. I think it will be really fun when it is going good.

Post pictures of your game with the door open so we can see the insides.

I was just thinking that if the errors are cleared after you open close the door and the machine plays normally, you may have a low battery issue on the mpu.

Just put a brand new battery in it. That is how this all started. I had the battery error. Replaced that and then it came up with ram error. I done what it said. Turned reset key and it cleared it all. Then it came up with bill validator error. Is there a set chip for this model. I think the validator needs to be programmed.

Kind of an after thought, are you sure you got a good solder connection on the battery? Also the I/O card is the one on the door that kind of looks like a suitcase handle. With the power off, pull it out some and reseat it. Can't hurt anything and those sometimes jiggle loose with a move. The batt. connections can be verified with a meter, top and bottom. Even though the battery is new make sure to verify the voltage is correct. Sometimes electronic gizmos just don't work. Don't trust the "well it's new".

Checked the voltage of battery before install. I would think if the battery was not good or was not soldered in good my battery low error would not have went away. Before i cleared the ram error it said it would clear all the settings. After i did it i thought oh crap. I really think it needs to be reprogrammed. Do you know if there is a set chip for this model or is it all internal? I can not find a manual for this model.

Replaced the battery on mpu. Where is the second battery? I have the set 22 chip on its way. That is what i need to initialize the bill validator.when i cleared the ram error it cleared all settings so the validator has to be reprogrammed.  Thanks
