settings for credit and paymode

so i cleared my CMOS (yea yea)

everything is fine and game is back running but some specific settings I like I cant change now?

game is SP731 and I want to change 0,5 player selectable credit to "player imitated noncredit" option 2, I also want 0,8 Bill accepter pay mode to be credit, option 1

problem is I cant seem to set them? when I set 0,5 I get a 000 on the winner paid which is good, and if I cycle around and check its all good shows option 2 still, strange thing is option 8 will show 008 and "follow or copy" 0,5 and set its self to 2 (which isnt a valid option here) if I set 0,8 to 1 or zero it also changes 0,5 to the same value.

seems odd.. I assume this is the mess why you dont clear the CMOS because its sensitive to this type of stuff..

any idea how I can get these values to write back out? do I need a different set chip then a 15?

actually it looks like any setting for "self test mode" isnt working correctly they all set the same for any value?
