igt game popularity rankings, is there a list somewhere

Being a pinball guy, it's nice having website like the internet pinball data base, or pinside to be able to look up the rankings on pinball titles.

Being a newbie to slots, is there a data base, or list, somewhere that lists the most sought after, rare, popular slot machine titles?

I think the topic has been discussed now and then but I've never seen a list or ranking that was determined by votes, or by the number of machines produced for the casino floor. Wheel of Fortune, Double Diamond Deluxe and Sizzling 7's were quite popular, but everyone probably has an opinion on this.

It was a "favorite S2000" poll and only had 5 or 6 games that made it in. Other than the givens mentioned above, there's no actual list on this site. You could try googling most popular IGT titles and probably find something on the subject from IGT. Rule of thumb, generally, is the more expensive on ebay, the more popular it probably was with the exception of some games that are expensive because they are rare. Anything Double Diamond or it's offshoots did rather well along with games based on movie or tv shows

21 years ago, I bought my 1st slot, a 5 line Gold Mountain...still have it to this day.

Back then, I bought several conversion kits...

I know Haywire is pretty neat...Are any of the other titles sought after?

Just recently got back into slots...(I have 15 now). I have a few Double Diamonds, a Triple Diamond, a Triple Triple Diamond, Triple Double Strike, Triple Red Hot 777's,

I have a few Ballys...In The Money, Double Jackpot Black & White, Money Bars, (5 line), Double Wild Rose

There's a difference between the titles that do well in casinos and the titles that are sought after for home collections.  The Double Diamond and related, 5x pay, red white and blue, sizzling 7 and wild cherry were the "franchise" titles for IGT.  They were super popular back in the day.  And actually sizzling 7's was a copy of the very popular (and still popular) Blazzing 7's by Bally.  For the home, it's another story.  Since those titles were so pupular, getting kits for the home market is really easy because there were so many machines sold with those themes.  For the home front, we want stuff that is unique and rare.  Some titles didn't do all that well in the casinos but are sought after in the home market sometimes because they are rare and hard to find like Coral Reef, Volcano, Tidal Wave, and Money Storm to name a few.

In general though, the themed games like I dream of Jeannie, The Munsters, The Mummy, etc are very much sought after as are the "Deluxe" type games that have nudging reels.
