S Plus Front Panel Lighting Question
« on: August 03, 2016, 09:41:05 AM »
For the life of me,  I can't  remember  HOW my front panel lighting  SHOULD  BE  on this  Double Cherry Bar  S plus 3 coin machine.

I want to replace any bad bulbs and get this back to 100%,   but  can't recall if some of the buttons should be lit up or not.

WITH CREDITS available to play,    I have  NONE of my front panel buttons illuminated.   (See picture)

IF  I hit the " Bet One Credit"  button,   it  does  not light up,  but  the "Spin Reels"  button  will light up.  (see picture)

At no time does the "Play 3 Credits"  button light up..........    I think that one used to light up if I had credits available,  but  I'm  not positive.

Also,   I think  the "Cash Out"  button used to light up.

Also,   Is the area that says " This machine Accepts $1,  $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 Bills"   supposed to have lighting?    If so,   I didn't see where the light bulbs would go  when  I had the front door open.

As a possibly important  side note,  just 2 weeks ago,   I had to re program this machine with the guidance of my original selling dealer (over the phone)  which included changing the SP731 chip,  and going through many steps with the reset key and button pushing,  then putting back in the original SP731 chip.   All works now,   with the exception of my lighting questions above.......   which are the least important final step for me.

Thank you for your assistance !!!    Two pics  below.

The Change/Service button (far left, and blank on your machine) is never lit.

When there are credits on the machine and the machine is idle (after a spin has completed, and before you have pressed anything else), the Cash Out button should be lit or flashing, the Bet One Credit button should be lit, and the Play 3 Credits (Max Bet) button should be lit.  The Spin Reels button should only be lit after a coin is inserted or a credit has been wagered via the Bet One Credit button (which, based on your description and pictures, is how it is functioning).  If everything is functioning correctly, I guess I'd start by checking for burnt out bulbs.

The sticker on the front ("This machine accepts $1, $5, etc.") is typically not lit.  There was an aftermarket sticker made for the S+ which would light up, but not many machines had it, and it doesn't have a replaceable bulb.

Thank you Kevin !!!

I thought that is how I remembered it working.

I guess the total re programming of the machine a few weeks ago didn't affect how the lights worked ???

I'll  get some replacement  #555 bulbs and give it a try.

 :thank_you:

Get leds better, turns your buttons from that off-yellow to totally white, gives the machine a more modern look.
