Switching reel chip in S2000

Hi all, have a question about an S2000. I have a Double Diamond 3 line machine that I've grown VERY tired of. I'm thinking about trying a Double Diamond Deluxe single line. I have the SB001000 setup with the S+ reel chip. Since I'm already running an S+ game in it, I thought I would just change the reel prom and give it a trial run. I'm not changing reel glass, payout glass or strips. I know it will not read accurately but I'm more concerned in the play of the game. I understand the nudges etc. of the game, I'm just tired of the DD 2 pay "winners" that has just gotten boring. My question is:  After the SS chip change is there going to be a number of errors to clear. Since it's not going to be a game change, and there won't be a 61 error like I'm used to, is this a matter of opening and closing the door to clear the errors or test button or reset key etc.?     If the game play seems fun then I can look for the parts for a switch. Thanks in advance.

Hey Shag, you should just have to clear crc mismatch and ram errors ising the jackpot reset key method

You bet, let us know if you run into any issues. I and many others swap game kits by simply changing the SB chip and resetting those 2 errors when they pop up. The only times I ran into issues was when I changed the SG chips also. I can't see where changing the SS chip would be any different. Anything's possible I suppose...

Yeah I couldn't find anything on here about anybody doing it. But it shouldn't be much of an issue. If I run into anything odd, I'll post it for all. Until then I think we'll call this solved.
