S2000 Extra "Stuff" Help
« on: November 03, 2016, 08:56:45 PM »
Hi Folks,

I have some questions based on my machine and tinkering around. I am now going to be using my machine as a safe and a piggy bank if you will for cash, and I live with roommates, so I want to be able to lock my cash box and cash box door, but there isn't a lock, just holes.  I tried to remove the lock from the side door because it's easier to open the machine when I want to change settings without using a key, I'd just prefer a key on the cash box door... and cash box itself.. But the arm is way too big for the cash box door.   Where can I buy one of these things, and what size arm is needed for the cash box door lock?   I know these are standard locks and I've seen them on many different things not just slot machines, so maybe you could direct me to a store that sells them...

Another issue I want to fix since I am a perfectionist is you will notice the cash box door has the sensor installed but no wires connected to it. There are some loose wires here and there that aren't connected to anything, I highly doubt whoever owned this slot prior just ripped the wires from the door & The machine.. I am assuming they are bundled or hanging somewhere. I've provided pictures for assistance.  Another issue is the loose wire in the back that is unplugged, by the power inlet. What does this wire do, and should I plug it in?

OK -- ONE OTHER issue... I ordered LED bulbs for my backlit reels, but I removed them because, they would stay lit and then turn off when a winning combo would come up, where as the Glass xenon bulbs come on when a winning combo comes up.... I also noticed, being that this is a single payline, when the LED's were installed for the payline, the other bulbs for the non pay line would be lit, but when I put the glass bulbs back in, they werne't... Radther odd.... So I've since just put the glass bulbs back in... *Sigh*

None the less, machine is freaking awesome!
Slots, Poker, Whiskey, Trains.... Those are the only things I can't do without. Well, of course my family, too.

The wires off the cash door optics were taken off and stripped and then connected together. Your best bet is to leave them that way. Those optics can cause a lot of nuisance errors about open doors. Out of site out of mind. There are lots of wires here and there unhooked in those machines. When Casinos remove them they take their stuff out and leave the wiring. If the machine is working properly, those extra wires around the cash box etc. don't need to be hooked up. I don't know about the plug or the locks. Probably should have split this up as there could be a lot of answers to multiple questions and it can get confusing.

I agree with Dave on the wiring . ..leave it the way it is or you will get nothing but errors.....for the locks if you have a Home Depot or Lowe's where you are I buy all my locks there,  they are simple (file) cabinet locks ..they are keyed alike so if you want all 3 locks on your machine they would all take just 1 key...the size i think was for a 5/16 panel..as far as the "arms" if they were to long I have cut them down with a Dremel tool...You could buy them on ebay but people want outrageous prices for just one lock...also I will get my fluorescent tubes there also...I was at a Restore the other day and they had a bunch of new 18" tubes there for 2 bucks a piece ...even had the round florescent tube for my Game Kings...also all the screws and nuts for your machine can be found at a hardware store, its crazy to me when people will post a WTB for some screws or nuts...On your led lights best thing to do is do a search for your issues..if you cant find posts on this site ..try the old site there is tons of information having to to with led lights and backlite reels....hope this helps...

Are your replacement LED's non-polarized and of the correct voltage? Putting polarized bulbs in backwards can cause lighting issues and damage the backlight control board to where lights stay on all the time
