IGT S+ DOOR OPTICS
« on: April 01, 2018, 10:43:52 AM »
Hi all
Over the last month I have been working on my triple diamond machine.
I replaced the battery and then got stuck in the 61-1 issue that with the help of Jim was able to fix. ( replaced door optics and chip on the mother board)
Now I have had the LED on the door open twice.  The machine will work fine everything then when I shut it down at night and come back I have the issue no doors.  I checked the 13-n and not strobing.
I replaced the LED an it will work fine till I shut it down over night.

To shut off the game I'm using a power strip with a switch? is this an issue.  I read the voltage for the LED and don't read any  very strange to me.  It has a good ground on the one side however wondering if its not good enough and causing a current spike on start up.  Also if I shut it down for just a short while it doesn't have any effect.

I was wondering also if someone has a Print for the mother board.  not the CPU board.

thanks
Randy

I don't entirely understand what you're saying.  Are you saying your door optics emitter is getting blown out every time you power on the machine, and that you have to keep replacing the optics emitter?  You said you "replaced the LED" -- are you talking about the emitter unit?

Sorry; I wasn't clear but yes, I've replaced the emitter twice.

Randy,   that's weird, you should have +5volts dc on that connector , witht he emitter removed.   that voltage is a function of +vb,  which is typically around 10 vdc,

the two wires travel  from the connector on the door  to p-203 pins 19/20,  its the third plug on top of the  board enclosure. the + led signal is a direct wire, the ground goes to the jumper over near the door hinge wire bundle.  from the top of the board enclosure, the wires travel to the plug on the back of the motherboard, it travels over to J-10, pins 1/2,  black/bluewire is a jumper, sends the signal to the cpu board pin 16a  goes to a 3902 transistor.

in a static mode you have to read +5vdc on that connector,  don't put any more emitters in there until we get the proper wiring verified and the proper voltage .    we will  figure this out.

Jim
You are the man, found that plug was not totally seated, push it in and have 5.1vdc.
Shut door and with one of the emitters that I could read it works. (don't know why my meter wouldn't read it)
I did go through all the plugs and made sure they all were seated and all is good.

Getting quite a learning experience on these.  pretty fun.
Thanks
Randy
