Re: S2000 IO Board issues.
« on: April 26, 2018, 12:24:56 AM »
Hi guys, I also have a question regardning I/O's. I have a White iCE MACHINES s2000 ENHANCED 9 line, it has 3 I/O boards. I am wondering if anyone has a visual pic or diagram that will show me the cable routing to each I/O board... I believe the harness may be hooked up wrong as I am fighting backwards spinning reels at start up, Coin in Jam, door open M, as well as no ability to clear or key chip because none of the buttons work. Please may someone share with me a n image of the I/O harness routing and which cables route to which I/O's. Thanks.

Scott

Caliwebman Please start a new topic for your machine. You have other issues than just I/O cards, I think.

Backward spinning reels is usually a bad I/O card but I have seen a bad 5-5-2 or 6-6-3 display cause backwards reels.

It appears your connections are correct.
Was the machine working then it stopped.
Or have you just assembled it. What are the card numbers on the door I/O cards? They should end with 801 and 802.
Does the LED display come on at all during boot up.

Thanks for the connections confirmation. No, have not had this thing working fully yet. It came along with a bulk whole sale auction purchase some thought to be working, some not. The strange thing is that I thought the door I/O's should be an 801 802 set up, BUT, THESE APPEAR TO BE (me thinks this could be the problem) Key Tronic Corp - Key Tronic EMS M/N 99731 x2 plugged into the door, and the same type card only with M/N 99730 plugged into the one on the MPU case. If I unplug the 14 pin connectors, yes, the LED's will show some numbers.. i believe a 3 then a bunch of zeros. Will check on this.

So is it clearly an I/O Card issue!?!?

Thank you!

Scott

There should be other numbers on those cards ending in I'm guessing  802. Also make sure the game is turned off whenever you unplug or reconnect them. The  I/O cards will not tolerate hot swaps or being unplugged with the power on.
