Quote-How much to expect to pay?
« on: May 30, 2018, 06:44:32 PM »

Hey all,

I am looking at picking this up, but think its a bit high. They are asking $700 with the Coin Comparitor acting up. Thoughts?

-EDIT-

When the reels stop at the end of a spin if certain reel symbols land just above or just below the payline the machine will delay for a second, then move the reels so that the symbols are on the payline, giving you a winning spin. It adds to the excitement of the game. The nudge games usually sometimes will have the word "Deluxe" at the end of the game name. Such as Double Diamond Deluxe.

I don't know about paying $700 for it, unless it has $500 in the cash box.  :garfield:

Special marked reel symbols will advance up or down onto the payline after normal spin is complete

Curious - Anyone know the name of this game?

Doesn’t say deluxe anywhere so how do you know if it’s a nudge?

You can probably find a nice S+ machine that is working for much less than $700, even if you have it shipped. Sometimes you will see a machine in your area that you really want, but be careful about overpaying. Check around to see what other similar machines sell for so you have a basis for comparison. You can look at the Classified section here on NLG, also search places like ebay, craigslist, offerup, etc to see what they are listed for. And many times a private seller believes it is worth much more than it really is. Or they have jacked the price expecting the buyer to make a counter-offer. If the seller gets the idea you can't live without it he isn't likely to come down on price very much. Remember, there are S+ and S2000 machines for sale everyday and prices are lower than ever before in many cases.

I figure one of the other NLG members recognized the game and knows it has the "nudge" feature. You can see the reel strips and the award glass (top glass) so that is a clue to what the game title is. But I don't know it, sorry.

Some game titles are just known to be nudge games. I think Phantom of the Opera was one and Titanic may have been that way also. Deluxe addition was for common games like Double Diamond or Red White and Blue that came both ways, with or without nudge feature

Thanks cowboygames - are all of the nudge games Type 5, or is it more complicated than that?

3-4 bills max on an S+ in my opinion.  Unless it has a sentimental value, I just can't see why somebody would pay that much considering what you get in an S2000 for not that much more.  Anyway, that's me.

Thanks,
Jason

All Type 5 games support nudging and if they're Type 5 they likely feature it.

Game types and definitions: http://www.newlifegames.net/spset/gametypes.htm

In the bible listing for Sierra Silver, it specifically says, "WILD SYMBOL SUBSTITUTES FOR ANY SYMBOL WHEN ON PAYLINE. "NUDGE BARS" MOVE UP OR DOWN DEPENDING ON THE DIRECTION OF THE COIN."

Of note, my Coral Reef game is a Type 5, and features nudging AND a spin-til-you-win feature.

I agree with the others -- $700 is way too much for an S+ in 2018.

Thanks...Yeah well he is standing firm at $700. Crazy since it needs work, although I think he thinks it needs more than it probably does. I guess that's why I am so shocked that he is sticking to $700.
