Return to coin?
« on: June 09, 2018, 11:07:55 AM »
Can coinless machines be turned back to coin in and out without too much trouble or cost?

Depends on where you are and shipping costs. Hoppers are expensive to ship due to weight. Talk to Jim at midwest slots listed on the home page, he's an S+ parts guy

S+ machines were never really intended to be coinless, so yes it's possible to get the parts needed to make your current machine accept and pay coins.

You didn't post a picture of the inside of your front door, but these are all of the parts that would be needed for your machine to accept and pay coins -- you may already have some of these on the main door:

- Coin entry head on the player panel
- Coin comparator coin acceptor
- Coin-in optics
- S+ hopper

Please do not PM me for support or "how to" requests -- please post your request in the forum so that everyone may assist you and everyone can benefit from the answer to your question!  Thanks! :)

We need to see this area of the inside of the door..
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

Yes, that helps.  I can't see if that's a coin entry plate or a blanking plate on the outside of the machine, so you may or may not need that, but you'll need everything else I listed above, and the appropriate mounting hardware to hold it all in place (it's a metal bracket that holds the comparator and also has a mount for the coin-in optics), plus a wiring harness that goes from where that jumper plug is to the comparator and coin-in optics.  I'm not able to even give you a ballpark estimate as to how much that would cost -- it's up to the vendor you get it from as to how much they'd charge for that stuff.  You could always post a "WTB" ad to see if anyone has the parts you need at a price that's acceptable to you.  I'd call the ad something like, "WTB: IGT S+ coin-in assembly and hopper".

I would think a ball park figure would be $100-$200 range for everything you need plus shipping cost. I don’t know where your located, but maybe you have a vender near you where you could pickup the parts to save on shipping.
