Triple Diamond S+ no credits?
« on: November 07, 2018, 07:54:10 AM »
I am having a credit problem and very new to these machines. I have an IGT Triple Diamond with a SP731 chip and the board that has a volume dial on it, I got the DBV & CC to work and all seems like it should except every win and bill accepted pays through the hopper and wont take more than 2 coins at a time. It never accumulates credits at all. I'm reading these posts about #8 and 5_0 but I have no clue what those mean. I've had to replace the battery and Set15 chip to enable the DBV through very specific instruction which I can follow. Just cant find on here specific instruction on how to get credits to accumulate through wins, coins & bills put into the machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!!!

Welcome to NLG! Here is a copy of your SP731 PSR. Do you know where the test button is? Usually on the front or on the back of the power switch. In the PSR, the dip switches it talks about are on the MPU (the board you referred to). On this game chip the credit limit is the same as the hopper limit. If you want to have those set differently, I would replace it with an SP1271.

Shaggy,
Sounds to me like the bill acceptor pay mode the set to hopper instead of credits, is that where you're going with the test button?

Also Hg, if it's a two coin max bet the machine will only accept two coins at a time

When I put a bill in it says 1 credit paid 4 as it should for a .25 machine. Even looking at the PSR I'm still unable to get it to change to credits, every win is paid through the hopper and bill inserted is broken through the hopper.

Take a look at the post by oakley104 about S+ credits. Replies 3 and 8 by sixcardmark talk about this very thing with the SP731 chip. I think if you read that post, it may be what you need to do.

Ok guys, thanks for the help on that. Got the credits to count now on Bill's accepted and wins. It is a max bet of 2, is there anyway to set it up to dump quarters in it and anything over 2 quarters go towards credits? Again thanks for the advice so far, huge help!!!

Yes there is, an SP1137 will not only allow you to add extra quarters for credit, but you can set the value of each one up to 99 credits per quarter. I have a Triple Diamond set up with that game chip. On that particular one you can set your hopper limit as you want and it automatically sets the credit limit to 9999. You don't even need a bill validator that way.

I would just need to get an SP1137 and replace the SP731 and that's it? Or do I need to go through all the settings again?

You will have to set things up for the new game chip. You have to take the good with the bad. I have mine set up for 99 credits for every quarter. So if I run out, I just drop in 10 or 15 quarters and play for quite a while. Just thought I'd mention it.
