Bally alpha extra eprom placement help?
« on: December 24, 2018, 01:01:44 PM »
Hello guys,

Merry Christmas NLG! So I got all these machines and right now my focus right now is to get this Monte Carlo Spin N Win Elite S9E Reel and LCD combo.  Well these games come with a extra set of game chips. This was a casino pull and each one is different on how the decommission a machine.

This casino was nice enough to table the bag with its serial number, and they removed the IC chips from the sub boards, and the delicately placed the all together in a bag and all. Here is the chip info.

avru1moca221-03 ST - avru60reel 180-03 ST - and an non bally tabled chip avbbp26s3oom-03 st

Here is the part where I need help. The sub boards were pulled and they are both identical, but left in the machine, and the chips were put in foam with the game and os chips. So where exactly do these go, I found the socket spots, but the is a 32 pin socket and the game chip is only 14 pins.

So if someone could please give me a general idea of where to start with putting these chips in, My machine is a 3 reel if that helps with it any.

Thanks!

AVBBP26S300M-03 is your BIOS chip and goes in the MPU in position U16
(Make sure orientation is correct)

AVRU6REEL180-03 (omitted extra zero) is the Reel Control Unit Software and goes in U2 of RCU (PCA 180599-0-0) which is located inside the reel door right above the reels in a small metal tray. Yes, the socket is a 32 pin but the chip is 28. Look at the attached pic to see how it goes in.
(Make sure orientation is correct)

AVRU1MOCA221-03 is Reel Control Unit Software for the TOP BOX RCU. It also goes in position U2 of its respective board. It goes in the cabinet area beneath the wheel and is typically in a small lockable box.
(Make sure orientation is correct)

Hope this helps ya out

David

They are installed, unfortunately at this point the motherboard has a display out issue. I put another alpha board in and it booted the machine this one has no display. So on to the next step.
