PE+ Slant Top compatability???
« on: February 04, 2019, 02:38:12 PM »

I just picked up a PE+ slant Top that is not in the best shape. I have 2 uprights and was wondering what parts from the slant top would be good to keep for spares or to sell.
It came with 2 superboards one with the wingboard on it. I am going to keep them for sure, along with the motherboard.
Is the monitor worth keeping for parts or best to sell it.
It has a BVD and several cash boxes that I don't need. What is a fair price for them?
The hopper is missing.
So is the wiring any use to me? what other parts are worth trying to sell from this before I strip it down and disassemble the cabinet?

Thanks
David

Please post pictures of the MPU boards, especially the one with the wingboard with good clear shots of the ROM labels for us.

Thanks!

BVD ? Weren't tighty whities called BV'ds
DBV perhaps.... is it a 145 or a 200 ? as a 145 .... break even shipping seems fair. If a 200 how up to date is the software ? How clean is it ?
Ebay is usually a good reference to price for parts.
Wiring - perhaps not .... but the buttons are usually handy to have.
Candle is probably re-sellable
Glass is re-sellable especially if its something other than just POKER.
If the coin elevator and hopper are in good shape they can be sold or the hopper wheel, knife and brake spring can be kept.
Coin In optics and coin comparator are all good parts.

The monitor mount I think is different than the upright ones but if the monitor is in good shape with little burn in its a keeper for spare parts.
If you can't afford to lose you can't afford to win.

some other pics. sorry some uploaded sideways, they were correct on my pc.

When I opened the top glass I found a 2nd DBV (both are 200) and also 2 of the faces for the DBV's.
This machine is setup for Bills only so the hopper and elevator are missing. The is a CC-16 in there that I will hang onto for a spare.

One more question. Is the board tray usable in the upright? Would be nice to not need to swap out the trays when I change the boards.

Oh My gosh. I just looked on Ebay to see about the value of the DBV-200 and could not believe they go for so much. How do I test them and find out what firmware is on them? I do not know if I will be able to get the machine up and running but I guess I will try in the next few days.

Thanks
David

I believe the slant top tray is a different shape compared to the upright.  If you have an upright machine, you can compare the two to see if they're the same or not.
