Can't clear 54 error code on Bally 5500

Help needed with Bally error code 54


My Bally 5500 is showing a 54 error code. Can anyone help me resolve this problem? A ram clear has not helped.
Any suggestions as to how to clear this code would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

I believe that's the error code for when the drop door is open or if the switch senses that the drop door is open. You'll have to check the sensor switch on that door or bypass it.

There are 2 switches to check.  One is below the cash can cavity and closes when the cash can is installed.  The other switch is above the cash can cavity and it closes when the cash can door lock cam is in the locked position.  The cam rotates up into a slot in the top of the cash can cavity.  Both of those switches need to be closed or will get code 54.

You can pull the COM and N/O wires off of each switch, strip and wire nut together and eliminate the 54 error permanently.
You can then leave the bill stacker out, it is no longer needed, let the bills drop into the empty drop cavity.

Problem resolved. Hooking the gray and yellow wires together did the trick. Thanks to all for your input.
