Bunker the links you sent are for setting up a spectrum stand alone. Roger has a cham II+ do not use those settings. You want to use the ones that give you the progressive link down. That means it's not talking to the cham2 but it is looking for it.
I can put the correct links when I get back from my trip too hard to do it via cell.
Roger in the meantime on the first chamii screen I remember settings had to be M03 and I believe M08 I just can't remember where. I will look when I get back Saturday night. Have you got the three wires going to the backplane attached correctly. In the mean time go to the progressive topics in NLG forum and look at topic setting up a cham2+ progressive. There is tons of information that should get you going.

I have  a S2000 5 reel Double 3x4x5x Times Pay. It has worked great for 2.5 years. I added a Cham2+ 1.5 years ago, works fine but would cycle the button lights on & off & sound like a relay would click at same time. It would only do the cycling for 1-3 sec & play would resume. It did bother me much so I just left it that way. it would only do that intermittently not every game play. After 2.5 years I got a low battery error so I installed a new CR2354, tried to reset it, had to key chip clear ram & set up from the beginning.
Replaced the cham2+ displays jpot.do  dollars & message, but won't  odo increase. Shorting red to black @ the backpane or @power/com box  wont advance odo on cham2+ but will advance odo on con2i & supreme 2x3 display. The original cham2+ quit after the battery change & reset-up had a C17 ram error. Still has programming problems. When I was replacing the battery, I found where the green varta battery was. It had a jumper soldiered from + to - with no battery but still had the U16 chip so I removed it with the battery jumper. After setting up game plays fine, just wont print tickets or increase the odo on cham2+ on con2i / supreme.
The replacement cham2+ works fine in S+ I borrow it from. Tito will accept bill accepter  tickets, cash, wifi add, but the Gen 2 printer won't print tito tickets, hitting cash out  display error says "sorry the printer is not available."Have to handpay to clear credits. Printer will print test spec ticket & in I/O tests 4.7.2. print test.
I'm guessing I need a enhanced backpane board and /or power distribution box with communication board. Any help will be appreciated, I've tried everything I could find on NLG. Roger
I have read & tried all combinations I could find, this is what I ended with    CHAM2+  V2.07   using PSP3.01

I'm going to work on getting progressive working first,  however I believe your printer issue is due to missing something on the TITO set up. Please carefully review the TITO setup paperwork.

Progressive:
I believe all of your PSP settings are correct.
On the cham2 change the menu setting from system to disp ( you show this setting twice in your post once with it set to display and later to syst should be disp)
I set my JP limit to no
The rest of the settings on the cham2 look good.
I believe the problem is in your 7. Settings on the S2000.
They should be set as follows.:
7.3.1 controller select,  7.3.1.1 game 1, 7.3.1.1.1-4 to the denominations you want the progressive to work
on. Then press the spin reels on the vfd mine says "Game 1 : denom 10c ' level 1
Link level 1"
( note all my other denoms say none : disabled as they will not advance the odo)
7.3.2 progressive display set up = none
7.3.3 stand alone setup
7.3.4 sas group =0

Try that and see what happens.
Also you talked about a supreme and a con2i are they also attached to this machine???

I went through the TITO setup 2-3 times, didn't find anything off, it accepts tickets, bills, wifi phone credits, but it won't print a tito ticket. If I unplug the machine to cham data input, I get error "printer head up" & call attendant. plug it back in & the errors disappear. The cham2+ works, display increases normally. It is wired to Con2i & Supreme overhead display with 2 S+ also ,they all advance OK but now as before the S2000 clicks like a solenoid going off & on intermittently. Both candle lamps come on & top flashes, bill accepter lights go off, all button lamps go off, & error shows up on display "link progressive down" This happens intermittently, 2-3 times a minute, sometimes not for 5-10 minutes.very irregular, when I installed the 1st cham2+ 2 1/2 years ago. Ive replaced the cham board, did not make any difference. The printer problem showed up after I replaced the board battery & set it up from scratch. Any ideas are welcome, I would like to thank Qbert for the help getting my cham2+ settings straight again.  Roger

The solenoid click that you hear is the pull handle lock engaging when the machine shuts down from progressive link down.  One of my machines also had that issue and it seems to involve having a good connection between the cham2 and the S2000.
Also the printer head up error is strange. The printer may have an issue. Try unplugging the printer and see if the progressive link down issue changes.  Also could you post a few pictures where the cham2  is connected to the S2000 and where the connection is on the cham2.  Maybe also a picture of connections to the con 2I. 500 series MPU or 1270 enhanced? Model of your printer? Does the printer print in the test mode?

Started playing with printer, unplugged tested again, plugged back in. No difference, I changed the power supply on cham2+, to see if it would change any thing, printer started printing tito tickets. Open it backup inspected printer wiring, 4 led on printer started flashing on-off & printer cable at adapter harness to netplex board started shorting to ground. No insulation on red wire at printer cable end plug. I removed the cable, cut off the rotten phone cable end, inspected wiring  & replaced the outer insulation, repaired the bare red wire at other end. Tomorrow I reinstall & start all testing again, hope for the best !!!

Printer was fixed with cable repair, made a new cable between machine @ cham2+. Printer prints tito tickets now, still have intermittent cycling of button lights & bill accepter.  Disabled printer, tested still does the cycling. every thing works just cycling with "link progressive down" error. No more printer head up errors. It has the enhanced 1270 with R board & Gen2 printer. I'll try to attach pic of plugs. Thanks, Roger

I tried removing the con2i plug from wap ez-pay box, still got error, moved the cham2+ plug from backpane motherboard to wap ez-pay, no errors. Plugged con2i into backpane progressive plug still works, no errors. The Cham2+ must have a intermittent problem with the motherboard. only when it is plugged in to MB do I get a problem, I'll get another MB backpane & see if that solves the problem for good.

Interesting I have 4 machines running cham2+ progressive S2000s all using the plug on the motherboard. One has the same intermittent "link down " every once in a while. I'm going to try changing to the EZ pay port and see.
Did you try putting the connection back to the motherboard to confirm the issue returns? If not it may have been a connection issue like I talked about before.

Glad it's working and good information. I'll report back and see if my "progressive link down " goes away by changing to ezpay port.

If I had it plugged in to the backpane like normal it was intermittent, as soon as I unplugged it the error would show up, so I think you right about the connection issue. I've had 2 different Cham2+ & 2 different power supply's do same thing. That's why I'm going to try a backpane MB. I'm still wondering about the varta jumper since it was that way when I bought it. One step at a time. If I reconnect it to MB it eventually comes back.
