Looks to me like the CMOS RAM is a Dallas Semiconductor IC (or similar) which has a backup battery integrated into the chip itself.  They will normally last at least 10 years or so, but not sure what you can do when it does eventually die.  I circled the component that I think is the CMOS RAM in the photo.  A close up picture of it would confirm it.

Definitely a unique S/S+/hybrid machine.

Looks like you may have a quarter in the back of the machine...get it out before it moves somewhere where it can damage something.

There were several quarters in trhe back of the machine - I got them all out before reseating the main board...  Thanks for the advice on getting them out though.  Any thoughts on the behavior listed above?

If you go to the FAQ's in the first section of the S+ area, second item is the S+ flipcards,  you may be able to cross over the numbers in the coins played window to your numbers, e.g. your 04 gave you the reel alignment, on the flip card and S+ when you have a 4 in the coins played window, press the spin button, the reels will display the three jackpot symbols and show the pay out for first coin and max coin bet. also each time you press the spin button it will go to the next payout symbols etc. also it will show you the two chip numbers that are on the board.  see if 03 would be the hopper test??

The numbers I mentioned are in the "Credits" display, not the copins played display.  The 04 option does small (single step of a stepper motor like) adjustment - it takes many small steps to move from obe position to the next - and they all seem to be offsets from 0 (my left-most reel is at 394)...  I could post a short video - if I can post a video file here...

I could post a short video - if I can post a video file here...

The best way to share a video here is to upload it to YouTube, then post the YouTube video link here.  :propeller:

I don't have a video yet, but I have new info on this machine.  Before I noted that when in the test mode, the display would cycle through option numbers in the credits display. It cycles through 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 08, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 then cycles back to 00.  I mentioned that 04 allows alignment of the reels.  I have since found that 13 is the hopper test.

I have two photos - one of the upper compartment showing mechnical counters (two of which I don't know what they count) and the other of the CMOS RAM chip...

Any additional insights would be greatly approciated.
