Not a straight for or against reply. Just my 3 cents. I have 4 E-series machines (3 1000s and 1 2000) and enjoy them but soon will be reducing that to 1. Why? Unlike an EM where you can dive in with a phillips and a bottle of oil, these machines require a different type of care. Like other machines, they always need something but the challenge is the two main boards. Depending on the problem, they often have to be sent in for testing / repair. Unless you have a great electronics bench setup with a scope and such, its's tough to absolutely ID some of the faults. When they work, the're fun but they do not do well when left off for periods of time and not played. The 2000 will most likely have a sound board, so you'll get that great 80s sound. I'd say take a chance if you can get it for a great deal ( I never paid over $100 for mine). I'll always have at least 1.
