Ok good luck with BV, should be able to get it to take bills. May need the set chip to enable it. I'm sure you will figure it out.

Offer is good on the board if you get one later.

The 55 sound is a mechanical click, from the speaker.  Checked mine and it is a sound.

Looks like it will work ok for your sister, she will enjoy it.

Tony

You can set the credits do what you want so you get credits with the dollar bill, even .01 so you can get 100 credits for a buck.  Info here on the forum on how to do that. Enjoy.

Thanks again,,
So 55 is the sound for the reel stop and mine doesn't play it on the test. This is obviously related to my issue I just don't know what to do with it :Scratch-Head:

Actually no. The 55 sound is a sound, mechanical click. With the dip switch #3 the reel stop sound is the handle solenoid. It turns on and off as each reel stops. If dip switch #3 is on it would use the speaker for sound(s), reel spinning, stop and others. As your machine does not work with #3 on, you won't be able to hear those.  You should just have the handle release solenoid sound as each reel stops.

Tony

To verify the 55 sound, use the volume adjustment pot and play the sound in the test mode, the click will be loader or softer. Else put your ear close to the speaker, that sound is coming from the speaker,  not something in the machine.

I have merged the separate threads together into one thread.  This is ultimately about the same issue with the same machine -- no need to create confusion by having people replying to multiple threads for the same issue.

I have never heard the machine play a song on a win just the typical ding sounds (Double Diamond  Deluxe 0731 chip).  However, the songs played when I did the Song tests 60-67 Is this something I need to set-up

S+ machines only play a single "ding" for each credit won. The only time any of the "songs" are used is with specific respin games like "Spin 'Til You Win" or "Coral Reef", and then only during the respin mode.

No actual reel stop sound test. The reel stop sound is either the mechanical handle release solenoid turn on or off, or an actual 'stop' sound played through the speaker. Sound 55 is the reel stop sound -  'mechanical click' sound. So I suppose you could call that the reel stop sound test.

Check the test card picture. 12 0-1 is the Sound Effects Enable/Disable setting in the test menu. Read it as 0 12 0 Disabled and 0 12 1 Enabled.  I hope I am not confusing the issue here,  just trying to get you all the information.
As you know 50 -56 Sound test, 60 - 67 Song tests.

So your Double Diamond probably does not play songs.

No songs, even at idle with no credits? 🙁 Is this a S2000 feature?

I have seen a hack.
When the Insert Coin Light is on you can use it to trigger a relay which will play a sound box.

You can also get motion activated ones just peek the sensor through the player tracking bar.

In my attempt to work on the DBV even though the machine shows the DBV enabled I decided I would change the denomination. When I installed the SET 015 chip in the machine (correct direction all legs properly inserted, 0 credits) I never get the 0 in the coins played window. I get no LEDs in any window. I tried 3 different 015 chips and I get the same results. I tried waiting several minutes, door open, door closed, hopper in, hopper out, I even tried pushing menu button, holding menu button. I'm thinking this with the other issue its probably the board. Any suggestions?
The board is a 10MHz  75505704 REV A, SP0731, SS4253
Thanks

The only thing I can think of is a stuck logic signal on some lines when the #3 Dip is ON.

It doesn't seem to be present however, when that Dip is OFF...but you lose the command to the sound chip.

I'd perform a total CLEAR and then use the SET chip to re-enable the DBV to see if there's any change.

Try flipping all the switches on and off a few times. Contacts might be oxidized.

Try it with dip#4 off one time.

I doubt it will clear if set chip won't work?

I was thinking of trying a clear, but as weird as this board appears to be I was afraid it might make the game unplayable. So until I can find a new mpu I can buy for her, I don't want to try. Like I mentioned before its my sisters and she is OK with no speaker stop sound or DBV.
