S Plus Tournament Chip
« on: November 27, 2021, 12:41:27 PM »
Have a 3 line Double Diamond S Plus.  I wanted it to play in tournament mode.  Inserted SP922 and the ST0001.  According to the Summary page on the SP922 it says to scroll to 20 then change it from 20/0 to 20/1 to start the Tournament Mode.  When I get to 20, it removes the lighted spin reel button so I cannot change our the 0 to a 1 on the 20 line.  My first time trying a tournament chip.  Any ideas why the Spin Reel darkens and will not let me make the change to ‘Torunament Mode?’  Thanks

The only thing I would be aware of is that you can't change any settings if there are credits on the machine.

ST0001 shows being for 3CM not 3 line.  Did you set the tourney up first?  There are many setting to choose before starting a tourney. (length of tourney/starting credits/rollup speed/auto spin etc.) Haven't messed with one in quite a while.

My bad, its a 3 coin one line Double Diamond.  According to the chip summary, one must first set it 20/1 to start, then the next few set ups are for the time, a break etc. once in the Tournament mode.  However, I cant set the 20/0 to 20/1 to start any further set-ups.  YES I did remove all credits, but nothing happened.  For some reason, the spin reel goes dark which is the button to move from the 20 to the O then make the O a 1.  But the light goes dark when I turn the jackpot key and get it line 20.  It is on on many of the other options like the bell to ring on hand payouts only vrs every hit, but when line 20 comes up you can only backward down to 19, 18 etc or ahead.  No choice to move over the O digit to make it 1.

On the main page, Ricks FAQs show how to make the machine show what chips are installed.
I am thinking what the label says on the chip might not be whats on the chip.
The procedure mentioned above will prove it one way or another.

Also double check you don't have any bent legs or legs not in.

Verified chip via the test button and they are correct what I posted.  Also checked the legs on the chip, nothing bent.  We'll figure it out.  Thant’s what I like about these machines, they are puzzle but o nice solved, they bring a lot of satisfaction.  Thanks for your help/suggestions.  I am going to start another post as I have tired and tired to figure out how to raise the credit limit on my machine (second S PLUS/ machine type 0, single line 3 coin).  The machine is a Double Pepper - NO BILL VALIDATOR, just good old fashioned quarters.  Once the machine gets to 1,000 it spits coins OUT and I’d rather them stay in because of the lack of a bill validator.  Better to build coins than keep feeding quarters.  I have a SP731 chip and have read and re-read the chip summary trying to figure out how to allow the wins to pass the 1,000 mark.  Kind of new to all this, but that’s really taken a lot o time looking and reading trying to find out how to raise the limit past 1,000 quarters before it starts dropping them in the tray.

The SP922 PSR sheet says:

This page is displayed only if the tournament option (game Type 0/14) is requested at the time the data chip is produced, and if no credits are accumulated on the credit meter from a non-tournament game.  Enable {1} or disable {0} the tournament option.

what does "is requested at time the data chip is produced" mean??
thanks
Bob
