oled wont configure....any suggestions?
« on: January 17, 2022, 08:28:24 AM »
ok bb2 with what should be a 3.09 version control panel in game called game chest i think. i have the same type of machine next to it and if i cross connect the usb the game boots normally...i have verified the problem seems to be the panel itself...i dont have the diagnostic tools so i need to know how to figure out what is up with this panel.....i am assuming it was working when they shipped it but i see not much i can service here....

As the buttons are trying to configure, are you seeing red LEDs going around each of the small OLED buttons or no LEDs lit up at all?

The blinking green on the big button is the bad news. It indicates it's trying to update the firmware for that button, and apparently that's not working. It seems likely you'll need the controller chip replaced on that button. That is quite easy on the early OLED button panels as each buttons controller was mounted as a removable unit, the later versions require a surface mount replacement.
If you have an earlier OLED panel you can try reseating the big button module, perhaps it just has poor contact( liquid ingress into the connectors and other sturdiness upgrades is precisely why the later versions came out, aptly named "Splash" 3.0 OLEDs.
