The Netplex Protocol is the bus for complex devices such as printers and bill acceptors.
DaveDetroit said this in 2013...>>>
"All NETPLEX devices are microprocessor based, communicate by transferring text messages to, and from the game.
Ticket Printers, Bill Acceptors, touch screens, VFD displays, and more complex Top Box additions, are all NETPLEX devices."
We've learned over the years that these devices are very sensitive to power surges and shorts.
It's imperative that the machine be powered down before servicing these devices.
Think of trying to change the oil on your car or lawn mower....while it's running?
Not a good idea right?!
Anyways, it's very possible that when you plugged it in, a power surge went into the printer and blew up something.
Does the printer power green LED stay on? (Assuming you have a GEN2 printer) If so...that's good.
If not, try this....smell it.
