25cents to 5cents

I have my triple diamond machine to play on quarters, can I change it to a 5cent machine instead.  The hopper will handle the the 5cent coin, the coin comparator should be easy to  enough and the software settings?  Is it a simple as changing the denomination setting in the software?

I just think that using nickles would provide for more coins in the hopper and less having to reach in the door less and pull coins out.

If you have a bill acceptor you will have to change as well. You will need a set denomination chip to do this
I am surprised that your hopper works with nickels and it is a quarter hopper but,if it works great.
You,can also purchase a 5 cent wheel to replace the one you do have .
It is a easy changeover.

You also need to change the coin-in head.  Another way to lessen the amount of time you have to reach-in and put coins back out is to tokenize the machine.  You can have every quarter be worth 99 credits, similarly when you cash out you get a quarter per 99 credits, and if it doesn't divide evenly, you do a handpay reset for the rest.  This change does involve getting a set chip and a SP chip that has support for tokenization.

I have my S+ Triple Diamond tokenized and it works great. 10 quarters and you have 990 credits. Don't have to keep many in the machine that way.

Thanks for all input, I think tokens would be the easiest way to go.
