Changing SB chips

Hi all, I've got an S2000 that's a 3 coin 3 line Double diamond. It has the SB001000 chip and an SS3740 reel  chip. I know it's a 95% chip. Is there any benefit to changing to a regular Stepper Base chip and removing the SSChip? I know I can change the percentage payouts on the machine but anything else? I have a 500 series board (no special effects) so is there a good reason to change? Thanks,

Dave,

I always to prefer to use the specific SB chip if available but honestly I have had DD with both & really didn't notice any difference. You can check to see if the whole payline lights up when you hit a cherry or just the single cherry. I really can't remember. Would only apply if it has backlit reels. You can also make it a DD Haywire by changing the SS chip to a 4363 97% or 4364 95%.

Awesome great info. The old DD is pretty boring and I'm thinking about a change. Three lines are OK but the little hits don't excite me. Maybe a change of game. Thanks,

Disregard what I said about making it Haywire. I read the 3 coin part but didn't really catch the 3 line. Duh! I have had a 3Line DD as well. It was pretty cool. Mine had SB100222.
