Is there a way to make an S2000 oval topper work on a S+???
« on: January 21, 2017, 04:14:00 PM »
I've been modifying some polygon toppers to work w/ my S2000 machines.

I'm wondering... :Scratch-Head:

Is there a way to make an S2000 oval topper work on an S+ machine?

I noticed that there is an unused 12 pin plug in the upper cabinet that has a pin reading 6.3 volts. I'm thinking about tapping into this power to provide the backlighting, using 6.3 volt LED strips.
For the topper LEDs, I'm thinking about using a 12 volt, plug in power supply.

I'm not concerned about making the candle work.

Has anyone done anything like this?

With some creativity, I'm able to use this topper on a S+ machine.

You need a 12 vdc and 24 vdc power supply. You can use one from chargers. If they are 12 vdc wire them in series to make 24. One supply + to next supply- then you have a + and - from each to make 24. Put on power strip for off and on.
Thank Ya Thank Ya Very Much.

I went with just one 12 volt power supply. I removed the fluorescent bulb assembly. I installed a light panel, (mounted on 2 one inch stand-offs). I installed 12 volt LED strips to provide the back-lighting. It looks a LOT better than the fluorescent bulb and w/ less heat/power consumption.

Years ago I did put a couple of S2000 toppers on a couple of S+ machines. Documented here:
