Tango,
I'm sure we will be able to get your new machine up and running.
Don't get discouraged it may take a few iterations to bring it to life as from your description I believe there are multiple issues we must work through.
OK lets see if we can help since this is a machine with progressive we will have to work in stages with the progressive being the last thing to get working.
First we need some history about this game:
1) Has this machine ever been used in a home environment before or was is it off of a casino floor and needs to be set up for home use. tell us what you know about it. (purchased from a dealer, estate sale etc.??)
2) What type of MPU board does it have? a 500 series or 1270 enhanced if you don't know that's OK, the pictures you post from question 3 will tell us.
3) Take some pictures of the MPU. this board is located inside a metal case on the lower left hand side of the machine (one picture showing the whole board, one closeup of the chip set SB,SG on the board.) also post a picture of the machine itself.
4) At some point in time you will need a clear and a key chip. Do you have a set and what are the numbers on the chips. If you don't have a set we need to know the answer to question 2 before we can recommend the correct clear and key chip for your machine.
5) We will need a few pictures of the inside behind the top glass. Specifically the progressive controller box and any p/ns that are on it.
Lastly how comfortable are you working with electronics, machines and computers that make up this slot machine.
Thanks
Rich
