Bally Alpha Gamemaker HD set up

Had to change the battery on my Gamemaker HD. I put the clear chip in the 1st slot and watched the machine go thru its steps until it says turn reset key to clear. It then reads that machine has been cleared. I turn off the machine put back the game chip machine reloads the games but what do I do after that. I turned the reset key after games were downloaded and the menu comes up but I get lost after that. Can anybody list the steps what to do after you clear the machine. I believe I did this once before but I have to be honest I just plain forget what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just wanted to add after I install the clear chip machine says Ball Clear Flash-Turn Key to perform) I turn the key and machine reads NV Ram Clear(Successful)2. EEprom Clear(Successful)3. EEprom Verify(Successful). After that I turn off the machine put the game chip back turn machine back on. I see at the bottom of the screen machine is downloading the games and a blue box comes on the screen and reads denom not set/date and time not set and so on. I wait after the games are downloaded turn the reset key but all I get is test the touch screen. What am I doing wrong?

Push the test button on the MPU.  That will bring up the menus so you can set up the date/time, denomination, games, etc.

Correct me if I am wrong. Am I putting the clear chip in the right slot. There are two slots(top/bottom). I am putting it in the top slot. When do I press the test button to set up the denom and games? Just want to make sure I get everything right.

Yes, clear flash card in the top slot.  After the machine boots up you can press the button.

I got it set up. Wrote everything down. Step by step. Takes a little time and patience!!

Glad to hear you got it set up again.  The worse thing is if you make a mistake you have to clear it and start all over. Step by step directions should help you prevent that.

hey, how ya doin...i too am the proud owner of a game maker hd...getting close to being up and running...have gone through the NVRAM clear...reloaded the game CF and kinda floundered threw the denomination, etc. setup for each game. whats left of error codes has to do with busted bill validator and empty printer, but one more error remains..."validation not set" how do I deal with that prompt? Thanks in advance.

Been awhile since I worked on a Hd. I do know that you need to set validation setting in your menu to standard.
