IGT Triple Diamond S+ BV Upgrade Chip (New Bills)

I am still rebuilding the Triple Diamond Slot Machine and cannot find an updated Bill Validation Chip that will allow the BV to accept the new $5, $10, $20 and $50 dollar bills. The old chip, a picture is attached, only allows the BV to accept $1 dollar bills.


Recently, I was working with a person who deals in casino parts. He sent me two (2) programmed BV Chips and said they would work, the chips did not work. I tried the 1st chip, BV did not accept anything. I tried the second chip, BV did not accept anything.


I installed the old BV Chip, everything worked fine accept, the BV will only accept $1 dollar bills.


If anyone knows what ver. chip I need for the upgrade and where I can get one, I would truely appreciate your help.

What version of software were you given to try? Can you post a picture of the power plug on your WBA transport.. If your using the earlier WBA 10/11 transport, it will not take all new bills.. I think it will accept everything except the new $5 and $100 with software 3.60. The later WBA-13 can be programed to that everything except the new $100..

You have the earlier WBA 10/11 Transport. I believe the 3.60 should work, but you might need a set chip to get it to work? I’m no S+ expert, so I’m not sure if just changing the software can be done with doing a clear and set??

Ok, so, I do have the reset chip but almost every post I've read tells people NOT to reset the machine using the reset chip unless it's an absolute last resort.

How can the current BV Chip work with $1 dollar bills and a newer, updated chip, will not work..?

I do not see how this is possible nor would it make any sense.

I can almost guarantee the casinos do not reset every slot machine and wipe out everything just to upgrade a chip within the machine. Am I wrong? I have no idea, just taking a good guess.

The 3.60 ver. chip I have only lights up one light on the side of the BV. Once I put the old chip in, both lights go on, and everything works fine.

Do any of the dip switches control the updated chip..?

There has to be some way to get the BV to accept new bills without doing a full system reset..?

No dip switches need to be changed. It’s possible that you have a bad chip. Do you know if it was tested by the person you recieved it from?

both lights have to be on for the unit to work.  have you tried any other older bills to see if they would work? ( on your older version chip) it should accept more than a dollar bill.

just by replacing the chip should be enough to get the unit working, of course the manufacture recommends that a calibration be preformed anytime the software is up dated, but still it should work with out the calibration,

speak with the person you got the chips from, make sure they are for a S+ ID022/023  what ever version.

From what I have read, I will never find a chip to accept the new $100 dollar bills.

I don’t think your WBA can be programmed to accept the new purple $5 with it being a WBA 10/11 Transport. If it were the later transport the WBA 13 it could be programmed to accept everything except the new $100.
