WMS BB2e machine and games

Hello, I am considering purchasing a few games for my WMS BB2e machine and would like to know if anyone has compatibility information on the following games and whether they require a dongle or other items to work.

The list details what you need for each game.  Other than the games that say TSETSE and the ones that don't support OLED, they will all work fine on a bb2e.

I remember when I got the BB2e they told me that Top Gun, Star Trek, and both Alice games won't correctly.   Alice needs the topper and the others won't work with Oled.

alice does not need the topper, it will work fine with just a top screen, the only issue is that the alice graphics will be huge and displayed sideways on a standard dual screen bb2.  The alice display box is basically a mechanized display box with a tiny LCD monitor vertically mounted to display the alice graphics.  The other games mentioned do require the TSE TSE or fooler board.

I finally got around to installing a game I purchased last year for my BB2e.



I have been trying to setup Invaders from the Planet Moolah that came with the operating system.

I followed the instructions for clearing and installing the game that Jim from BettorSlots posted on facebook (thanks Jim).

It was having problems with the OLED setup.  I finally tried the USB OLED choice after trying the OLED 8 button top then OLED 8 button bottom and I am not sure what is happening now, it appears to pass the OLED section on the startup but won't complete the configuration.  After a few minutes it puts up a call attendant message.  It also wont let me get into the diagnostic menu by pushing the button now. I have tried shutting it off waiting a few minutes then restarting and the same thing happens.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am also starting to have an issue with the oled panel buttons.  Some are starting become dim


Hopefully it is an easy fix.

Your problem with software may be the fact that those cards are not genuine wms OEM cards. The button issue can be fixed by replacing the individual button OLED displays. They are expensive though.

I have done some searching and I found the information from when I purchased the games that each came with the OS for my BB2e.


John Wayne purchased on July 22, 2018  Works great


Invaders from the Planet Moolah on July 25, 2018 has problems.


SCLR-1851 Ram Clear Card on July 24, 2018 Works great


Wizard of Oz 2 Ruby Slippers (came with hand written instructions about the top screen during setup) on July 24, 2018.  Setup the game yesterday and it works great.


Then I searched for the person that sold all of them to me and was shocked and sad at the same time.
I found this post on nlg by idesign.


Just learned that Jim Masonis of Golden Gamerooms passed away on September 9th, RIP Jim  (2019)

Everyone had nothing but great things to say about him so the software having a problem had to be an accident.  I wish I would have known more and been able to try the software sooner, I'm sure he would have helped me.

Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get either different software/operating system so that the Invaders from the Planet Moolah will work and the Wife will be happier?

You may also have the issue with the firmware lock issue on the player panel.  What os versions are you using with the other games you have tried.

Good point about the firmware lock, if the last game that was installed used OS H13.XX, like your WOZ II, the OS that comes with the Moolah won't update the firmware.  John Wayne uses an H9.XX OS which should change the firmware back if you are using one of the newer versions of the OS.  I would try that and see if it help to make Moolah load correctly.

I have tried all of the suggestions with no success.


So far the Invaders from the Planet Moolah are definitely winning.


As a side note I followed the additional step instructions that Jim included with the Wizard of OZ Ruby Slippers and It definitely was not what I was expecting.  IT WAS MUCH BETTER !!!!


The instruction told me to disable the top screen while performing setup which I did.


After it finished loading I found that both the top and main screens worked and performed flawlessly.  I was expecting the top screen to be blank, blue, or something not exciting.  Instead the top screen worked just like it does in the casinos.  Different pictures, animation during some bonuses.  Very Cool.  Wife and I both are having a blast playing it.

By "Disabling the top screen" you aren't actually disabling the top monitor. Ruby Slippers had an animated Top Box in the casinos, that's what you're actually disabling for the game to play correctly. I can see how that would confuse someone.


And yes, it's a very fun game, one of my favorites. There's a lot of action on the top monitor and the Bonus games are fun.


If you want an OEM version of Invaders, look up a guy on here named mrhockey or on Ebay as noquartersrequired.


He's a WMS software guru and can tell you a lot about what works and doesn't work with your particular machine. He's got almost every BB2 game ever made.
