Find J7 connector on the backplane. There is wires 23 and 27. Drop door wires . Black wire and White with black dashes. Tie those together. Turn the BV back on and clear it.

J7 connector is cabinet I/O. At bottom left of backplane. You could trace them wires up to the BV area and tie them together up there.

Thanks again for the help.  I traced down the wires on J7 and the white with green tracer goes up to the reset key switch. The white with black tracer was at the bottom with a black wire that went nowhere.  Wasn't sure how to count on connector for pin 23 and 27.

Tie together those 2 loose wires. The Black and the White with black tracer. Then turn on the BV with the dipswitch settings and do a clear.

I should correct myself. Wire #23 is White with black dashes. The black wire is #27 GND for the drop door switches.

The J7 connector wire location numbering is numbered on the backplane .

 The top and bottom rows of wires are numbered Right to Left !!

 First wire on top row to the far Right is number 1. The last wire on the top row to the Left is number 20.

The bottom row of wires start at the far Right with number 21 and go left to last wire being number 40.

You are the man and great website.  Attaching those wires together and bypassing the cash door and magazine switches got rid of the error 54 and bill validator is working.  GREAT JOB PROBLEM SOLVED!!! :applause:
