Have you checked the +13 & +25VDC outputs on your power supply?  Sounds like it's kicked the bucket to me.
if thats the case, what would be my next step ? Where and how would I go about replacing / fixing that ?

Your heat sink is missing on that transistor on the bottom left of the pic. Near the copper choke / coil. Might overheat that little guy without it.
this thing has run for years , just like it is . Never known of any overheating issues

I do not have one . I wish I had someone to show me . My apologies!

Ok.  In that case I'd just replace the power supply.  It's probably bad and they're not real expensive.

Okay. Just wanted to point it out. I’ve never run any without it.

By no means am I an expert on this and I’m also a newbie to slot machines but I’m very familiar with troubleshooting and have been posting about almost the same issue that I finally isolated it down to one of the components that is connected into the Netplex board on the upper cabinet. Just a quick recap of what I went through:

- Installed a printer and a TITO as the same time into known good machine and when I did my machine.
- Lost all power to the machine except for a buzzing noise coming from the power supply and the lights on the MPU would cycle
- Disconnected both the TITO and Printer, still no power
- Disconnected components VFD, printer, Bill Validator, ballast (Didn’t really no exactly what ones to disconnect), no luck
- Swapped power supply several times with known good machine, still no power
- Swapped Power Distribution Box with other unit, no power
- Rang out wires for both continuity and voltage from the PDB to power supply and power switch, checked good
- Checked the resettable breaker/fuse in the PDB, checked good
- After countless hours a of troubleshooting went back disconnecting/isolating components causing my issue so I went into the upper cabinet and disconnect the harness that feeds through the lower cabinet to the upper cabinet. It connects to the Netplex distribution board and another board that has something to do with the sound (again newbie). Everything powered up except for the components that are connected to the NETPLEX board which is the ballast, printer and upper light.
- Still isolating it down to which one is causing my problem but maybe this will help.

So do you suggest replacing the power supply ? If so , where do I find one reasonably?

You can find one reasonably here. A few of our member sell them. Post a wanted ad here on the s2000 forum. Or you could become a contributing member and post one in the wanted ads.

Like I said by no means am I a matter expert but I would try isolating it down a little further. Try disconnecting the power harness that comes from the bottom to the upper cabinet. It worked for me and now I’ve isolated my problem down to either the Netplex board in the upper cabinet or the fan. I’m going to order both.

I would isolate it down a little more and if you want a power supply there’s a pleather of NLG members that can help you with that. Doesn’t hurt to have spare parts.
