Help with button light behavior and game ID
« on: November 22, 2024, 02:50:29 PM »
just picked up this draw poker rig. Super clean. Everything works. I was able to get rid of the mux error and closure messages. The hopper works, no screen burn even!

I have questions about the behavior of the lights. When the hand is over, and the “game over” and “hit select for other games” blink, the top buttons; deal/draw, bet, stand, collect blink in an attract mode. The bottom five hold buttons, 3 out of 5 come on steady. When I play a new hand, the 3 steady ones stay steady, and the 2 that were dark now blink.

What is the proper pattern I should be seeing?

Are these caused by bad transistors in the cr13thru cr20? Section of the 906 turbo. My laptop died, guessing on the cr numbers

I’m going to do the typical pull chips and deoxit, flow solder where needed, here shortly.

The behavior isn’t right, but I don’t know precisely how it should act. If that makes any sense. I’ll try to figure out how to post a video of it. If someone can post/text/email me a vid of how their button lights act, I would appreciate it.

Also, any idea if there is a manual for this. I looked in the nlg files, and I can extract some common stuff, but dip switch settings seem to be all over the map for the various boards. Mine has sw1. Sw2 has a fixed jumper chip on it that reads 1206F. I’m assuming that is the payout table?

The roms have 300.06 on them. I could find no reference to them.   The game choices are “bonus royal, roarin’ fours. Deuces wild, 4 way bonus, and double 4 way bonus”. Up top it reads “the gambler series”

When you deal, are the hold buttons flashing? or on solid?
if they are flashing, and you press hold, do the hold lights come on solid or turn off?
If the hold buttons are on steady after a deal, and you press hold, do they turn off?

This is the behavior I am trying to sort out.

84 views, one of you have a game kicking around.  Please play a hand and report back.  Thanks

I was able to run this mpu in another cabinet I have. The split light issue is from the 906 board itself. I was able to run the 906 by itself in the older arcade cab with no 911 mb.

I may just end up wiring the 5 hold lights to run steady/on, and call it a day. The constant flashing would get Annoying.

1. I deleted that other thread where you posted for a better manual/schematics.  The OP never followed up with me and his game was a 904 non-turbo game. Plus if anyone replied there, I would have probably had to move it here. Plus my manual is for the non turbo board so it only shows button behavior for a different unit.

2. I added your photos in the the NLG attachment system and deleted the off site host links. In all my years here, 100% of off-site image hosted images have vanished, leaving some threads useless. Please use the NLG system! I know it's a pain with resizing. We're working on that. If you have any issues, PM me.  Thank you.

Finally... I'll PM some other members that may have information for you and, hopefully they'll chime in eventually.
