gAME KING
« on: January 08, 2025, 05:44:13 PM »
:nlg-logo: I have a s2000 game king, everything works as it should except the top and bottom lights, the keys board and the printer. bill accepter works, game works, other than a flickering on the screen.  I've tried new bulbs and ballast. nothing works. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ted
Welcome to NLG!
Need some clarification, is the flickering coming from the fluorescent lights or is the monitor flickering?
We should probably have you list out each problem as an individual line, bullet point, etc.
if you do have a monitor problem that will be a completely separate issue from the lighting or game play problems.

my apologies, The monitor is in a constant flickering state. You can see the games and it very clear, but the flickering is terrible.
as far as the light problems, the top lights do not work, the belly lights do not work, none of the button lights work on panel, and the ticket printer does not work.
The game plays as it should. the bill accepter works great, takes all bills and gives correct credit.
I have checked bulbs, changed ballast, nothing???

How about posting some pictures of your machine inside and out.  Early Game Kings used a traditional ballast/starter, later models used an electronic DC ballast.  Also need to know if you have a CRT or LCD display.  Pics help us see for sure what you have.  They must be less than 1MB in size to post, so resize as necessary to get under that limitation.

Glad you jumped in Tilt, I wasn’t sure what variables there were with the cabinet lighting.
I do know the button lights are not related to the other lighting and the monitor will be a separate issue also.
It is possible all the button bulbs are burned out…it happens. My approach would be to pull a bulb from a button and test it out of circuit. I had a GK and I replaced all the button bulbs with LED from the top by popping the caps off.
Once we see if it has an LCD or CRT monitor we can advise from there.
