ArgOS screen problems
« on: February 04, 2025, 08:19:17 PM »
Hello folks.. I'm converting my Bally Alpha 2 to the ArgOS platform and have been able to reach the setup screen. The only problem is the game is stretching up into the top screen and the topper. Anyone have a suggestion to a solution. Thanks….   Oh and it’s a V22/22 with the 15 inch topper.

Can you reboot WITHOUT the video topper? I think the older Video topper has  a lower resolution than what the game and its causing that issue. Worth a try.

Note... I do have a pin out harness installed that was purchased from Fireballjackpot on this site. Do I really need this for this game? Thanks

Yes, you need the jumper harness to play Argos games on 22/22.  Huff N More Puff is a dual screen game so should play assuming you have the correct video card, DP direct connected monitors (no adapters), OS and Windows.  All monitors should be the same size so if the topper is different, maybe try disconnecting it.

Were you able to play other Argos games without any issues?

If it ain't broke don't mess with it.....

I can't tell what is plugged in from that pic.  Your video card should have labels.  The ideck should be using a VGA to DP adapter, the other 2 should be direct connections from the video card the the monitors

I do have VGA to DP adapters and the plugs are in the video card from left to right Main,Secondary,Idec, and topper. I just unplugged the topper in the photo. See picks for all the files loaded on the system.

DP to VGA adapters are for ideck and compatible topper.  Main and secondary are direct DP to DP.

All software looks correct on that screen

I did the nvram clear and it did this again. Do I have the wrong pinout harness? Seems like it's looking for a different cab.

That's possibly assuming you have everything else connected correctly and the video card has Bally firmware and not a generic PC video card.  I have seem PC cards being  used and they don't work correctly.

One other thing, are you using DP to DVI connections on the monitors?  or direct DP to DP?

It's a direct DV from and to the main and secondary screens. The video card is a Bally flashed card.
