Mounting TSE Board Safely into a BB2
« on: March 20, 2025, 06:05:50 AM »
Hello, got myself a TSE Fly board that works perfect on my BB2 Cabinet after testing it. Was wondering if anyone here has any possible safe solutions for placing/mounting the board inside the cabinet without possibly shorting it? I do NOT want to ruin this thing.

Thanks :)

The circuit board is supposed to be mounted with screws, inside of an enclosure box with a cover.

I would ask around for the mounting plate that goes into the topbox.
:sherlock: You can see the tabs along the top edge of that enclosure box, it slide into grooves on a mounting plate.
The key latch locks it on.

Maybe place a WTB ad in the Classifieds section of NLG for one?
Hopefully a member/vendor will spot it and have one to sell to you.

A vendor just told me they attach to the back of certain top monitors on original BB1's.

Yes, but this is a BB2 he wants to use it in, and it does not mount to the back of a BB2 monitor. He'll need to have accesses to it to change the cards.

Nice modification looks very clean :)

Yup, imo simply just leaving it at the bottom of the cabinet setting on the floor sounds really unsafe even if mine is covered in the original box.

Dragster, that's a clean installation and quite clever.

I might need to borrow that idea.

On any of my Bluebirds that have a TSE Box (BB2 with BB1 CPU for the 1.5 games) I mounted the Box behind the Lower LCD. It is kind of a pain to swap Cards, but the LCD is simple enough to lift out and reach behind when I decide to do a game change.

My other BB2 is done the same way, I mainly just use it to play the older Games like Wizard of Oz that require the CPU-NXT2 and a Fooler Card.
