Konami K2V Software - Need an Explanatio
« on: April 09, 2025, 09:57:18 AM »
I am acquiring a small library of Konami K2V software and some of the game kits are incomplete or not working. I would appreciate some one explaining the function and compatibility of the various cards and chips. The following is description of what each card and chip is labeled.  These labels are consistent among the game sets I have.

ROM1 - Video Platform or ADV5/ADV3 Platform
ROM2 - Video Platform or ADV5/ADV3 Platform
ROM3 - Video Platform or ADV5/ADV3 Platform
ROM4 - Game Fix Chip
ROM5 - Game Fix Chip
ROM6 - Title of the Game
ROM7 - Title of the Game

ROM8 - Quick Strike

CF1 - Game Title Data Image
CF2 - Quick Strike

Questions:
For ROMs 1, 2, and 3, are these compatible with either the video platform or the Advantage (reel) platforms, but not both?

Are the Quick Strike ROM8 and CF2 Quick Strike applicable to any game, or are they specific to a certain game?

Are ROMs 1 thru 5 interchangeable between games?

Thanks for your response.

I tried a Quick Strike cf card and a Quick Strike #8ROM with a working game set of China Shores, but got the ORANGE SCREEN and deadbeef message line.  This was tried after a RAM clear and configuration via the menus.  It tells me that the Quick Strike cf card needs to compatible with the specific game set of chips and game CF card.

I was able to set up the Standalone Progressive in the appropriate menu, but got the orange screen and dead beef message upon attempting to bootup.

The Quick Strike cf card seemed generic, i have two of them with identical labels, but the machine won't boot up.

How does one make the Quick Strike cf Card compatible with a specific game?

thanks.
