Vision no sound on cash out, handpay, or bonus game win?

I have an IGT vision machine that makes no sound when I cash out coins Or handpay. I checked the settings and the mechanical Bell is on for handpays, but I get no ding ding ding as the credits drop into the tray Or once I hit cash out when the limit is above the hopper limit. Is this normal on vision machines?  Even when I win on the bonus game winnings go to credits there is no sound either.

What is your volume and limits set at?

Reel spin sound is good. When you hit a win the credits sound acends as credits go up. Just no sounds on cash out, handpays, or bonus game wins.

Mechanical bell enabled on hand pays.

Anyways, I notice you didn't give us Game Volume and Money Volume settings...>>>

played by that device. Use the Setups and Info options provided by the

On a Vision, the sounds are generated from the BGM card in the LCD computer.
You're only getting the generic sounds from the MPU.
If you have them enabled, they should be outputting sounds.
The only thing I can think of is do you have the 4-pin harness coming out of the LCD display?
It will be green and white wires.

Remove the topbox glass and get in there with a camera.
Need to see the harnesses coming out of the back of the display.
Also, show us your sound amplifier...t should be up there in the topbox as well.

There is no mechanical bell.I thought that was also simulated sound on hand pays amd jackpots, that's why I had it turned on.
I do not have a money sound option.Only game volume control, reel spin sound, reel stop sound, mechanical bell, and roll up tones.

The machine has bill in and coin in sounds and also gameplay win sounds. It even has bonus game sounds.  It just does not have any sound when you hit cash out on hopper pays, hand pays or the bonus game wins.

Your wiring harnesses look okay and are Vision OEM harnesses.
You still have the old Vision-ready speakers.
I'm going to bet that the stamped metal manufacturing label on the side of the machine is a pre-2000 dated year?
Maybe 1999?

I suspect that your SG92 GME 1&2 chip pairs are too old.
I would upgrade them to SG248's at least...at least those ones would match your Version chip.
Member RB would have them or make other suggestions.

3.2.1.2 Money Sound is not even shown as an option in the 3 settings.

Yeah...that option isn't programmed into your old SG92 GME 1&2 chip pairs.
That's why I suggested upgrading.

Look at SG chips as OS operating system software...like Windows XP or Windows 10.
Vice versa, the SB chip would be the game (REEL they call it) that you're playing such as Double Diamond Deluxe Man or Wild Cherry - that SB chip contains the award payouts for the symbols.

Knowing this, I suspect that you need a newer operating system (OS) that would have the [3.2.1.2 Money Sound] option.

That might just be enough of a push to get the version chip updated from the slow NJ and try the new game chips as well and see if I could fix both things at once.

Personally, I love OEM original manufacturing set-ups.
Your machine is from January, 1998...that's one of the first Vision-ready S2000 slot machines IGT ever made.
If you change the chips, it's NOT an original Vision machine anymore.
So it's up to you what you want to do...lol

According to the PDF RB sent SG248 may require a higher ATA than whats installed. Not sure how to update ATA.

RB is sending me an updated BGM with compatible ATA the the version and game chips. I'll let you know if the sound and boot up time improves.

Installed new version chip, game chips, and ATA/BGM card. Game plays faster and has all previously missing sounds.
