Howdy all,

I bought this slot machine off Facebook and it wasn't originally working other than the lights.  Guy didnt have the reset key, so removed the key and hotwired the reset.  This seemed to work a bit but something wasn't working, there was a loop between the bill accepter being complete and then moving the game into a "play" state.

Pulled the PSU to check if there was a power issue, nope i stuck a multimeter and was getting 5,12,24 volts out of where it needed to be.  Pulled the board to clean the contacts and check for loose eeproms.  Then...sorta saw what looked like a cut eeprom.  Can someone please look at this board and see if there is in fact something missing?  If so, where and how could I get a replacement??

Those are jumpers. Sometimes the jumpers are soldered on the bottom of the board. That top bank of jumpers is settings like hopper payout, they are called SW1.
The lower set is called SW2 and its jumpers on the left need to match the odds of the game chip, yours looks set…with the left two spots jumped.
You can go into setup and disable BV or just unplug the connector and the computer will not boot the BV.

Make sure that battery has over 3v or it won’t boot.

Jumping that reset key should reset the machine. Most of the time thats all these machines need.

There is a more advanced reset procedure in the manual. I think its like this but I can’t remember for sure.
1. Turn reset ket to closed position
2. Hold the reset button by the power switch
3. Turn white power switch on
4.hold button for 15 seconds until you hear a ding, let go

If you are a contributing member you can download the SG manual. SG-50 and 150are pretty much the same but I think there are two manuals. Here are a few relevant screenshots for your reference.

I replaced the top bank of switches with dip switches but its somewhat pointless because once you set the game up they never need to be adjusted.
The problem with my machine was that the previous owner had no idea what he was doing so he moved all the jumpers around and put silicone grease in every connector on the game like it was a magic potion. Hot mess!

They are just switches basically.

Thanks Chris.  I unplugged the Bill validator and now it will boot.  Allows me to put in a coin but then gives CIN NOPULSE error.  Insert coin is highlighted, and it still has the TILT light on.  I'll contribute and get the manual but I'm sure happy to hear that my board isn't the issue and its something else!

Nah, these are really robust. I do have one board in for repair right now…it wouldn’t do anything!
I suspect yours is set for mechanical coin mech (mine was too…probably default after dead battery). Go into those settings and change it to optical. Im pretty sure that is one of the advanced settings. You have a sample coin in the coin-comparitor?

Think I got it pretty much figured out.  I just have to switch out the reset, attendant and jackpot key with switches and ill be set.  The manual was massively helpful.   Thanks for your help Chris!

Glad to help. Were you able to get the BV to work after all?
Mine continues to throw th No V error. But there is nothing jammed in it.

Works occasionally for dollar bills but it will not throw any errors.  I unplugged, cleaned the contacts and plugged it in.  Was happy....  however so much deferred maintenance on this thing.  Many thanks!  If I get the bv working fully ill let ya know!
