Guru help - S9000
« on: August 04, 2018, 12:37:52 PM »
I've read many issues with printers on Alpha1's but not sure what the answer is.

A problem occurs during setup of the printer, communication lost.
Tested with Ithaca 950, Ithaca 850.   Harness number 200213-00-0 REV B,  249743 0939
Is this the correct harness?

Gen2 Netplex, RS232 printer is available but there is no Gen2 printer option in setup.  Is Gen2 compatible with Ithaca ?  Does it use a different harness?

When the Ithaca 950 printer prints a ticket, the bottom part of the amount shown on the ticket is over written by other text it prints making it hard to read the amount.  This does not happen with the Ithaca 850 printer.

The picture below shows a lock partially locked/unlocked and will not accept a key.  Has anyone ever run into this before and if so, how did you fix it?   Do you think the lock will still be able to move without the key?  How did this even happen?

How does one know what jurisdiction chip is in the machine?  Is there a table somewhere that converts the numbers?  Or a table somewhere that lists the differences?

Can a S6000 hopper be used in a S9000 machine?  Plug and play?

Thanks!

Use Future Logic printer selection for Gen 2's, harness should be the same.

The Printing issue could be dirty rollers on the printer, so the paper slips the the print gets messed up.  Clean the rollers and it should fix the printer.  OR you don't have the right firmware on the printer.

The key that was used to open/close had the little key/tab removed and someone pulled the key halfway through the cycle.  Some dealers do that so you can remove the key when the lock is in the open position, something which is not possible to do when the key has the little tab on it.  So if you get a key, take off the tab, then complete the close cycle, you should be able to use the lock with no issues with a regular key after that.

When you run a clear on the machine, it says what the sjur is.  Also if you have the machine running, go to accounting and tick on the the version information.

An s9000 cannot use an s6000 hopper.

Future Logic is not an option in setup.  Seiko is.
The key thing, good to know, thanks.
Everything else, noted.
Thanks Rick.
