in reply #14, you said you had a 10_0,  all three should be 10_1,11_1,12_1,  when you block the optic, they will change to a 0. when doing test 11_1, you can block the optic and get it to change to 11-0, and you can push the tiny white button and get it to change, you can only do the button on test 11,  it will not work on 10 or 12.

if you have a 10-0, WIGGLE the rust colored plug while you observe the display, see if it changes., when plugged in and you are getting a 10_0, that is probably why you are getting a 21 code.

OK I powered up the machine it reads 21 in winter paid. I press the reset once it read’s nothing in winner paid and 0in credits, Press the reset button a second time and it reads2in winner paid and 0in credits, I press the reset button a third time and it reads 10 1 and no change with the popsicle stick. I’d turn the key one time and it now reads 11 0, No change with the popsicle stick while wiggling the wires or pushing the little white button, I turn the key a second time it now reads 12 0 and no change with the stick while wiggling wires but when I push the little white button it changes to 12 1. I hope this helps. Sorry for the mixup the 10 1 was right but the others didn’t have the one.

Also is there a page that tells you what winner paid and credits numbers should read from fresh power on for every time you push the reset button all the way back to the start, some of mine could be wrong.

That document is called a PSR - Program Summary Report.
Its specific to your game chip.

As a contributing member (thankyou) you can go to the Downloads section of the site, then IGT, then PSR and get the document.
It has all the different settings, self tests etc.

I would say your optics are getting power since the white test button is working but it would appear the optics are not working as the optic state is not changing when you block the optic.
This is either the optic board or the wiring harneess.

When optics go bad you typically see one of the three go bad or the whole board is dead. Not that its getting power but no optics responding. Not saying its not possible but if your old optics and new optics are doing the same thing then I think this is a bit of a coincidence and we should be looking at your wiring harness.

I got the new comparator from Midohioslotmachines.com. I don’t know if any of y’all have heard of them they seem to be legit.

Yes I changed  the comparator.

Yes sir , The machine has always worked perfectly and everything in it was in it when I got it 10 years ago except the game chip and now they’re comparator.

I believe your optics are bad, I have replacements available.

I thought you'd replaced the optics.  I will repeat it again, the coin comparitor has absolutely nothing to do with a code 21 error.  It's sole function is to either accept or reject a coin falling through it depending if it matches the signature of the sample coin installed.  That's all it does.  The credit is added to the machine by the a coin passing through the optics in the proper sequence and time. 

Get with Jim, get new optics, and you should be back in business.

OK I have installed my new optics I have closed the door Reels Spin no codes but the coin just fall straight through no action. 🤷‍♂️

Its good to see the 21 error cleared. This sounds like your optics are working.

If you press the tiny tiny button on the optics do you get a test credit ?
re-doing the popsicle test does your zeros change to 1's or vice versa.

Since you also replaced the coin comparator is there a sample coin in the comparator ?
There is a sensitivity adjustment on the comparator have you adjusted this.
Typically you turn it all the way (low) and then comeback about a 1/4 turn.

You can also wiggle the two grey wires on top of the coin comparitor and trying another different sample coin.

The popsicle test works the comparator is adjusted all the way to the left

I put a different coin in the comparator and attached and reattached all the wires wiggling so on nothing is happening.
Should I use the Utility chips I have a set 90 and an IVC 123 ?
Also I’m using the original comparator. I sent the other one back It seemed like the consensus was there was nothing wrong with my comparator.🤷‍♂️

The 21 cleared. This tells me the optics are getting power and each of the ABC optics are reporting closed.
If the optic is blocked, dirty or no power you get the 21. I don't think wiggling makes a difference unless your trying to clear a 21.
Its cleared it should be good.

The micro button on the optic should put on a test credit that you can play with the door open. Again this is a test of the health of the optics ....
1. Do you get this test credit ??

The popsicle test is to block each of the optics and ensure it goes from a 1 to a 0. There are 3 optics ABC and that is why there are three tests.
2. Is this working.

3. When the door is closed - is the message blinking (or solid) that says insert coins ??

If 1, 2 & 3 is working then you now have either a comparator problem or the solenoid associated with the hopper rake is not working.

What is the comparator number and letter CC-16?? you mentioned you replaced it. Does the one that you replaced it with have the same letter ??
