Sometimes it can be the reel controller board.  If you swap the 4th reel with another reel and run a calibrate reels afterward to get them going, see if the led that is out follows the "bad" reel.  If it doesn't you have an issue with the reel controller board located on top of the reels right int he middle, it is usually locked with a key, but some dealers just remove the key for easier access.  I had that issue once with one of my reels.

Thanks Rick
I swapped reel 4 with reel 5 calibrated and LED was still out on reel 4, Must be a bad LED, have know idea where I can find one. This is my first Alpha, more used to IGT S+ and S2000 machines.
Is the reel controller the board on each reel at the bottom? Thought about swapping that out between the bad reel and a known good one. What are your thoughts.
Thanks
Phil

So, the blown led followed the reel as you moved it, if I'm reading correctly?  You could just buy another reel, it will probably be the easiest thing to do.  There are several vendors here that can source one for you not too expensively.  My best guess is that the LED array itself is faulty.  The little control board on the reel is really just the stepper controller board.  The leds are controlled by the little board I described earlier that sits on a tray in the middle of the machine just on top of the reels.

Rick
Yes when I swapped the reels and calibrated, top LED was still out, the middle and bottom one work fine.
even took the LED assembly out and it is just a pop in circuit board with 2 LED on it. Looks like if I could get my hands on one of those my
problem would be solved. Guess I will post a WTB and see what happens.
Thanks for your help.
