Door lock issue causing door open M
« on: August 14, 2016, 07:54:23 AM »
I have a 17 inch I Game. It used  to be I would have to sort of lift on the door to shut it properly or I would not get closure. Some times a couple of times to get the game on. But recently I had to completly remove the latch and just close the door and it works fine. No door optics on this game . Just a cherry switch on the main door and a micro on the belly. If i open the door and pull the cherry switch out which normallly would let you play. If you lift up on the door a bit the deck lights go out. So something strange when lifting up the door a bit door or going up into the latch.  The game was made  in 2000. Ground? IO board? Any ideas?

You may need to adjust the switch plate assembly after replacing the latch?  See attached photo, you can see where there's slots in it that allow it to be adjusted.  If that doesn't help then it may be the belly door switch.  Unless you need it hooked up for some reason, I'd just bypass it completely.
