Link Progressive Down
« on: October 13, 2016, 10:29:00 AM »
Having problems getting into my progressive setup after Key 45. Can get to 7.3.1 Controller Select but cannot save the settings. Cannot get into 7.3.3 Stand Alone Set up at all. Used clear 224, 223, 97. Used Key 31, 32, 45. Changed 504 boards and SB and SG chips. HELP! It did work before, but I tried to change the machine over to WAP but failed , (operator error). Now back to Standalone.

Dale,  On the stand-alone set-up just use a 31key and if needed use the 97 clear on that one.  At this point if it is working just use the 31 key, wait for the lights, power down, reinstall base chip-all while leaving the main door open.

UPDATE

The game plays fine, hit the bonus round and it worked fine. Cannot access 7.3 Progressive with Key . Is there anything, anywhere in any part of the menu ( accounting, history, options) that would prevent me from accessing that. I cannot find any difference in my other machines that are progressive off hand,,,,,,, :hissyfit:

hi Dale...the information below is copied and pasted directly from the PSR for SG000534, my comments are :waving_flag: in green:

COMPLETE SET OF GAME PROGRAMS
Game PROM - The main game logic is stored on a set of two programmable read-only memory chips (PROMs), which are 27C801 or 27C080 devices. The labels indicate STEPPER GAME, GME1 or GME2, and the game version (SG000534).
Base PROM - The companion base PROM, which is a 27C240, 27C4002, or 27C4096 device, contains some of the game sounds and the paytable information. The base PROM should match the reel strips and top glass installed on the machine. The label indicates STEPPER BASE and the SB number, which identifies the paytable (SBxxxxxx).
Key Chip - The key chip is required to change some game options, such as the denomination. The key chip is a 27C4002 or a 27C240 device and is labeled with the key chip number KEY00045.  :waving_flag:  i always use the keychip version listed on the PSR
Clear Chip - This IGT utility program enables the operator to clear the game memory. Use IVC00223 (or replacement) to clear RAM or use IVC00224 (or replacement) to clear RAM and EEPROM. WARNING: The use of Clear Chips should be restricted. Please check the requirements for your jurisdiction regarding their use.
Version PROM - The version PROM is a 27C1001 or a 27C010 device that specifies the machine release number, the jurisdiction ID, and the casino ID. The version PROM controls what is available to meet special jurisdictional requirements. The label indicates STEPPER VERSION and the version number:
VERSION DESCRIPTION: VS011GX0 single denomination & VS011NX4 single denomination – New Jersey ONLY
VFD - The VFD program controls the vacuum fluorescent display. The label indicates VACUUM FLOR DISPLAY and the VFD number. VFD00007 is required for controller boards with part number 75117700. VFDF3001 is required for controller boards with part number 75120400. Some game themes require an additional display. The number (VFD1xxxx) is dependent on the game theme.
MMLB Card - A DSV card must be installed on Multimedia Lite board II for game themes using enhanced sound. To play sounds, set all DIP switches on the DSV card to off. The number (DSVxxxxx) is dependent on the game theme.
Reel Driver - The reel driver is a slave program that operates the mechanical top box. The number (RDxxxx, RDFxxx, or RDPxxxx) is dependent on the game theme. NOTE: For information on the various types of reel driver programs, please refer to the Program Summary Report titled REEL DRIVER PSR by contacting your customer service representative or accessing the IGT web site.
Optional Spectrum Display - SDF100 is required for controller boards with part number 75512602. SD0111 or SD0112 is required for controller boards with part number 75512600. SD0092 is required for controller boards with part number 75508400.  NOTE: For spectrum text messaging capability, SDF100, SD0112, or later versions must be used.
GAME TYPE
This version supports S2000 games with single denomination. The available slot stepper games are:
STEPPER SLOT GAME TYPES
American Bandstand
Elvis
Viva Las Vegas
Family Feud Fast Money
Family Feud Triple Round
Harley Davidson
I Love Lucy Jeopardy!
Marilyn
Sinatra
UNO
Wheel of Fortune
Wheel of Fortune 5-reel
Wheel of Gold

i also checked the progressive configuration section:

7.3 Progressive
The progressive submenus can only be configured and/or displayed when the paytable program supports progressive awards.  :waving_flag:  This note indicates to me that perhaps your SB version doesn't support progressive configuration...post your SB and i can check the PAR sheet if you don't have it.
7.3.1 Controller Select - Displays a list of levels to be configured. For each level, the operator must select from a list of progressive types (e.g., none, SAS, link, and standalone). NOTE: Before the operator can select SAS as the controller, the SAS group must be set.
7.3.2 Progressive Display - Setup Although this option appears, it has no affect.
7.3.3 Stand Alone Setup - This page determines the limit amount, the current amount, the add percentage, and the base amount for each progressive level.
7.3.4 SAS Progressive Group - This page sets the SAS progressive group. If set to zero, SAS progressive capabilities are disabled. The operator can set the SAS group from 1 to 255.

hi Dale...your PAR sheet isn't available on IGT's website any longer and i don't have it saved so unfortunately i can't help with that.  :duh:
are you running a WOF theme?  also did you try the 363 SG's? i know the 363 is progressive capable as i've had several on my casino's floor over the years; i can check that PSR as well for you.

hey Dale i just thought of this possibility as well... you are clearing credits from the game before attempting to keychip...correct?  no insult intended, just the way you keep posting that the "game plays" then won't keychip made me wonder...  :arrowthruhead:

Dale,  The SG 336 chips will not work with your base chip.  Return Everything back the way it was before you began "tinkering".  You know the chip combo you have works as it was what was in it to begin with.  Make sure the jumper is on the backplane (2-pin) black jumper-this signifies card cage open/closed. As mentioned make sure there are no credits if you cannot remove them ivc 97 first then key 31.

Oh yeah, its credit free when I clear or key. I have two progressive machines running, a standalone and a WAP. I checked all my settings Options/ Key that I can, in my SA and made sure those were in the machine I'm working on. I must have missed something somewhere. The machine was running great but I decided to try and turn it into a WAP. I failed but found out my Cashout button was not working. So I decided to change it back to SA.

When I go back into Key and try to change the settings they do not save and then I get a Link Progressive Down. I then clear the machine and only key the denomination, game and printer and it works fine. The second I try to rekey the 7.3.3 progressive it is Link Progressive down.....

Yes it is a WOF theme.

Hey Barry

I'm checking all my values in my SA again to make sure they are the same in the one I'm working on. I'm certain the SGs are fine. I had to do something when I tried changing over....I had my reference machines so I didn't think I screw up like this, its gotta be simple. I changed the backplane also...same problem.

As suggested by one of the esteemed senior members here on NLG that spent several hours on the phone with me 'check your values with your working machine!' Well, come to find out there was one value that was different, the SA was not enabled....duh! Thanks Barry! :1:

And thanks to Foreman for taking the time to answer this post! :1:
