BB2 Monitor Fails to Power ON

I have a WMS BB2 top monitor here which does not power on the first time the slot is initially turned on.   This happens after slot sets unpowered for several hours.  It then powers on when you shut the machine off and turn it back on a second time.  I thought it was the monitor so I changed it out with a known working one and I get the same thing.  Any body have any ideas before I tear into this slot.  Thanks

I’d probably take a look at power connections and the power supply next.  So there’s no power at all?  No lights or fan spinning on the monitor?  Or is it just not getting a signal?  If just no signal, I would look at the HDMI and/or VGA connection.

No power at all to it.  I thought PS too but I have no way to sub one as I don't have extras.  I have switched the power feed lines on the PS that go to the monitors but problem is still there.  I may look at the caps in the PS next.

Only the top monitor?  The bottom monitor gets power all the time?  I would try a different vga cable to the top first.  Then an mpu.  It's weird that the main monitor would power up without issues but not the top.

Top doesn't even power on with initial powered up (no amber light).    Yes it is strange but that's what's happening.  I'll try a different mpu but I don't think that's the problem.  I will test the power to it using a volt meter on initial power up tomorrow.

What if you swap the power cables from the top and main monitor?  Or maybe the power harness has some issues?

I had a problem with my dual screen BB1. The bottom monitor quit working, not just the monitor but the cooling fan on back wasn't working. I feared the worse and started shopping for a new monitor. The fan not working made me wonder...

What it turned out to be was the connector on the backplane wasn't making a good connection. I noticed a brown mark on the Molex connector while chasing wires.  The monitor came back to life after I wiggled the connector. I squeezed that one pin so it made a better connection and it has worked ever since.

Don't know if the BB2 is wired the same or close to the same but like Jason said, check your connections...
