Mk6 boot problem
« on: August 01, 2018, 10:01:08 PM »
I have two MK6 machines and when I boot
them up one machine boots normal and the other
machine always boots up with with "logic door open" error.
I open and close the logic door and issue goes away till the next boot.

Any one have any idea why or how to fix this issue?

The game is “Miss Kitty”.
The I/O board only has one battery.
When it boots it will go through all of
the self checks but when the game is
supposed to load it just reboots.

My had the same problem one battery for i/o and 2 for xp board they need to be taken out and boot machine to clear the boards then turn of machine and insert system board on xp board with set chips 06.03.04 u2 and u3 along with fully charged batteries for i/o, xp board and boot machine and configure. Then you need to shutdown remove system board and boot again of course logic cage open then setup then close logic cage and your good to go.

Right now I waiting on some chips to
come in and then I'll program new set chips.
But after following the instructions to the
setup the machine will now only black screen.

I think there is other issues as when I change the
main board with a working board it will only reboot or black screen.

Just a suggestion.  Put both the logic board and the comm boards from the working ma him a into the crazy booting one.  If that transposed game boots up, you know the issue is in one of the two boards you took out.  Then put the working logic board with the suspect comm board in the working machine.  Hopefully the process of elimination will identify the problem board.  Maybe I'm way off base too!

I transferred the boards and the boards from the
non booting machine worked in the OK machine.
But after the battery removal the boards only
show two red lights and a black screen.
I'm thinking there maybe a power supply issue.

I don't know enough to give you any great advice on what the issue really is.  If these machines were mine, I would start swapping parts to find the bad one.  The power supply is a good starting point.  I would look at the video system next.  Good luck.  Please let us know when you finally get the issue solved.

I have one MK6 cabinet that does that too. I changed battery and it cleared up for a week, then right back to the alarm at startup. I gave up and my routine is to start machine, get alarm, open front door, open and close logic door, close front door and I am good to go.

I have not attempted to remove and replace batteries and do a full clear on this cabinet yet. Its working after I jump through a few hoops, that's better than not working.

Hello, Paul, I am having the exact same issue as you, I was just wondering what you did to resolve this? I've just installed a new power supply, and the machine was working fine, but i went to turn it on today and it gets black screen with tests on, gets down to the bottom then reboots, Top house light and monitor goes out, it reboots to do the cycle again.
