When I looked closely at your photo of your old mpu it didn't look terrible, the motherboard looked worse. Maybe the old mpu can be cleaned up and saved as a spare board to have. That might be handy if you get more S+ machines and need to do some troubleshooting on them. Do you see any bad damage to the old mpu? You can clean it with a little vinegar, then rinse and clean again with some soapy water. Scrub with a soft bristle brush. Do a final rinse with clean water. Try to remove all the battery leakage. Remove the mpu from the metal tray before doing this, to get that large power transformer out of the way, don't want to get it wet, especially on the inside. Let the mpu air-dry overnight or longer before applying power.

I feel that a working S+ in my area are going for $400-$600 in nice working condition, and what game you have.. The thing is that non of the newer games are not doing coin handling. As the coin handling machine start to dry up, there prices have stabilize around the current prices. You location may vary. From what I’ve seen here is that they are cheaper out West then back here in the East to Ohio valley..

And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

Oh! I guess those are the parts the 3-year old removed when he/she was troubleshooting.   :dancing_2:

The board could have those parts replaced if you wanted to solder them in. Just a guess, but Q16, Q17, Q18 may be for non-essential things like light bulbs, the board may still work for testing in a machine during troubleshooting. I'd have to check the mpu schematic to be sure, or someone else might be able to say. Just hate to see a possible usable board thrown away.

Didn't Houston have a serious flood this past year? Watch out for flooded cars, slot machines, tv's, etc for sale.

Looks like Q16 is for the pull handle solenoid release circuit.

Q17 is for the coin diverter.

Q18 is for the lockout.

Not sure how essential these are for the mpu to work well enough when troubleshooting a machine. But I'd think the pull handle and coin diverter are not too important.

All 3 missing "transistors" are MAC3030 triacs/thyristor devices. Depending on how long the legs are on the triacs that were removed you might be able to solder them back to the board. I'm guessing they bent them back & forth until the legs broke.

Get the child enrolled into vo-tech or college as soon as possible, I foresee a mechanical engineering future. However, if the 3 triacs are nowhere to be found you need to first get the child to an x-ray machine, the parts may have been swallowed.
Like they say in the engineering dept, safety first!   :odie:

With no credits on machine press white button twice, change 2_0 to 2_1 using spin button, then turn jackpot key once and change 5_1 or 5_2 to 5_0, close door.
