Bally 5000 Plus Wheel Slot Handle Issue
« on: September 05, 2018, 08:09:40 PM »
Acquired this machine a few days ago and have been spending lots of $$ on it,  thank goodness she pays out well :)  ...

I've noticed that the handle doesn't often allow you to pull it and you must push the spin button .... Is this a programming issue

Thanks goes out to the many folks that spend hours answering these newbie questions .....    I know I certainly appreciate all your help !!!!

Joel

A lot of us know what you mean, some machines do take an additional investment after the purchase cost to get them back to running like they should.

The pull handle has a latch that is unlocked by an electric solenoid, like a coil with a plunger in the middle of it. Sometimes that solenoid or the latch can get stuck or bind. You may need to examine it and clean it, looks for a loose wire connection, etc. As soon as you make the first bet the handle solenoid latch should click and release. I don't think it will be a programming or setup options thing because the SPIN button always works. You can probably remove the coin hopper and look in there on the right side of the lower cabinet to see how the solenoid locks and unlocks.

When starting a new discussion topic please put your initial post in this part of the forum so we won't have to move it out of the General Discussion area. That way things stay organized, it keeps all the discussion threads for Bally reel type machines together. Thanks!

@ rokgpsman,

Problem solved ......   at the bottom of the arm are two rubber bumpers that the arm stops on ....  one of them became dislodged and was preventing the arm from come to a complete rest ....  once put back into place all is good .....
Issue was solved by realigning one of the rubber bumpers at the bottom of the arm ....   one was preventing the arm from completing a full rotation.

Thank you !!!

Thanks for reporting what you found, it could help others with a similar problem. Part of what we try to do here is make a resource so people with machines having a similar problem can see what others before them have done.
