Do I or Don't I?? (varta battery)

I bought my second machine a S2000 Triple Double Stars. The VARTA battery on the board had leaked and oxidized alot of parts. I just got a replacement board with the VARTA battery and 2032 coin battery came with the replacement kit.        I have read some people say remove the VARTA battery and it's not needed for home use..
Do I Keep It or Do I Take It Off????

Which MPU did you get? If it's a 500 series, take it off. If it's a 1270 with R board, maybe not

Ok,,,just remove Varta? Is there anything else I should after removing it,,I’ve read something about a U16 chip?
