IGT S+ Door Optics Wiring
« on: June 25, 2019, 11:50:31 AM »

I have a machine that was missing basically everything besides the wires, I added the cpu, motherboard, etc. The door optics were put in from a working machine. The door optic on the door is working, held a camera to it. I can not tell if the door optic attached to the machine side is actually working. There is a wire harness that doesn't seem to have a home so I am not sure exactly what it went to. Right now the machine is stuck at 61-1 because the machine doesn't read the door is closed to use the reset key. Here is a couple of attached photos, was wondering if anyone can see a problem or what's actually missing. I'm not sure if the door optic is getting power.
Thanks

Yeah the optic is plugged into the wrong connector. It goes to the one with the red & green wires.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

Attached is the backplane board wiring.   Some of the connectors you have plugged in are not needed.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.

So now I have an issue with the coin comparator/coin optics. I have no code but when inserting a coin it goes directly to hopper without registering there is a credit. If I open the door and push the test button on the optics board it does add a credit and I can spin. Any ideas?

If your coins are falling into the hopper without adding credits it’s 2 possible problems. First is that your coin in optics are bad, and second is that the black plastic coin guide is not the correct on. If you have a $1 of .50c  coin guide when your running quarters or nickels the coins will not be guided to go thru the optics. The fact that you can add credits proves the wirings ok. I would start by checking the coin guide.

So I went to run an input-test on the optics going to 10-1/1. I cant get to 11-1 with the "change button".It has the light lit ,along with the "play 2 credits" button to go back, but neither function.  The black plastic coin guide where the quarter is placed in?

The black plastic guide is located between the two coin optic boards.
